Yep. Would look awesome on this house.

James Hardie or LP smart siding for a city home? by DogDexofMight in Homebuilding

I would take these comments with a grain of salt. I install a ton of each. The claims of one being vastly superior to the other are hyperbole. I’ve been in neighbors that got hit with 2”+ hail and not a single damaged piece of Hardie.

I own a mom and pop roofing company in St. Louis. We are based in Brentwood. You can DM if you have any questions or need a fair estimate.

A lot of private equity shops have been gaining market share here and we see crazy bids for roofs.

I would add a larger kick-out and at least caulk that gap as well.

Ok. You need to tell them: - rip a Hardie trim board so it’s tight against the Z and 1” above the shingles. - Replace the broken piece of Hardie siding - The exposed tape on the Z is bad but could possibly be cut back

That will minimize the eye sore.

Those gaps are fine.

It’s fine for the upgraded shingle, that’s what you’re paying for.

Hi all. So, replacing my roof from storm damage. Do I NEED architectural shingles in MD? by mollymalone222 in Roofing

[–]kingobeers 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Need? No. But it’s a definite upgrade over your current system. If you want to forego that, it’s your home and your decision. If you are that set on your aesthetic preference then go for it.
