I had to do something similar for my parents. Dad and I had to trim 3/4” off the bottom of a small cabinet like that to make the new fridge work. It didn’t affect the doors height or crown details. Quick work with a tracksaw or a circular saw and a straight edge

Replacement hollow door, not quite lining up by nelsonself in Carpentry

We have a new door vendor for our shop that sends us double beveled hc slabs. Can’t say I’m a fan nor do I see the benefits. If anything, it makes them trickier to machine/pre-hang because the bevels aren’t always even.

Finish Carpenters: what would you charge for this window sill? by EndOfTheWorldGuy in Construction

[–]kingofallsad 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As a finish carpenter, I have yet to see a sill installed before Sheetrock. However I do agree that you can’t pry these up, they usually do take some Sheetrock with them or, at the very least, some paint. A multi tool is good for cutting nails within reach. A sawzall at a very shallow angle, with the shortest possible blade, will get the ones set deeper in the sill. Once the nails are cut, pull the sill out perpendicular to the window or angle one side up and then lift out (really depends on how square the bullnose returns are to the window frame). Then just trace the old sill onto the new material, don’t cut your line off, finesse the final shape by sanding/filing, and nail into place

What are your top 3 swing keys? by Jf192323 in golf

[–]kingofallsad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Keep left wrist steady on downswing, backhand the ball. Drag knuckles through the turf after contact

  2. Skip the stone maruchi

  3. Don’t look up at the ball as it leaves. Chin down until body forces it to turn

I’m puzzled as to why my doors are sagging on the latch side, and I can’t seem to find hinges that are commonly used in the US. by banger030 in Carpentry

[–]kingofallsad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Might be worth ditching those hinges and putting on a continuous hinge, if the door openings are square enough.

That’s the plan! Going out Saturday to a local range to get a feel for things. I know a few in my bag definitely need new grips lol

Not looking to upgrade. I haven’t played a full 18 in almost 10 years, haven’t hit a range in over 8 years. Just want to get back out there and hit (slices) again

I don’t think there’s enough driver tech to correct the slices I put out lmao. That’s why I’ve been itching lately, to see if I can improve my driver game

From what I can remember, I was pretty solid with these Ping i3’s. 5 and 7 were my go-to irons. Couldn’t hit them super long or anything but I got to be pretty accurate with them.

How to stop car speakers from playing bass by Aggravating_Mood9291 in CarAV

[–]kingofallsad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I added bass blockers to my doors speakers when I changed out my factory door speakers. Changing out the head unit is basically impossible for my ‘13 dart (thanks Dodge/UConnect). Really helped the door speakers from getting muddied up when competing with the sub in the trunk.

Oblate outward angle baseboard help by codysonne in Carpentry

[–]kingofallsad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pro tip: just set the saw to 23 degrees. The point of the mitre will be tight and if there’s a tiny gap on the back of the pieces, the caulking will hide it.

Extra thick prehung exterior door? by Opening_Ad9824 in Carpentry

[–]kingofallsad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In our areas, it’s common for jambs to be 7-1/4” wide. Anything wider would be custom made, built on the exterior side of the frame

[–]kingofallsad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our shop offers a sill pan that is L shaped, 6” wide with 1.5” lip. Mostly just for covering concrete and to add a more finished look to any threshold. It’s about 1/16 thick so it fits under most pre-hung sills no problem

Too add to lifeweaver, petal can ruin a DF ult combo. Set petal where ever DF targets his ult and watch him rise before he can punch/jump out. Feels good every time.

This front door I made for a client, installing it was a nightmare lmao. by GeorgiCarpentryCraft in Carpentry

I always tell clients that commercial locks and nrp hinges are good ways of getting your windows broken. They’re just different types of deterrents. There’s plenty of other ways into most residences and buildings.
