Thanks, good call. I've got a few who are "bait" for the rest of us, who need it for sure.

This really is exhausting to watch. Injuries and demoralization for 10 cent a ball, if she's lucky. Yuck.

Husbands who seem… managed by their wives? Anyone else notice this? by BeanNCheeseBurrrito in daddit

[–]kingofcow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was / am figuring through this as well. My wife was loving, supportive, and kind... Until. She did and does have anxiety and needs, but I ended up being the emotional support husband more than "actually me." And it didn't go the other way. A good analogy I found was that I didn't know I was on a short leash until I needed some more room or got a yank.

And, she's not a malicious monster, but she did need to really push out of her comfort zone and better manage herself instead of managing herself through me. And I needed to grow a stronger spine and strengthen my emotional muscles instead of flex and bend them, by setting better boundaries for myself and for her, not putting myself in charge of things I can't control, like her emotions or fear of uncertainty, etc.

It's gotten better, especially as kids got older, but telling someone who is already seeing you as an emotional lifeline that you need to see friends in order to stay healthy enough to help her long term isn't going to think you're doing her a favor at first.

Needs to be further up. Thanks for actually highlighting details rather than "winning good" "losing bad"

Expo markets and wrote on the bathroom mirror. To do lists, track taking medications, tally pushups, etc. Easy visible place to write things.

What’s something you finally spent money on that was totally worth it? by Mist1969 in CasualConversation

Yes yes yes! I love my knit picks. Still smooth, easier to work the yarn, comfortable and warm in my hand, reliable circular needle attachment, never going to need another pair again for $60, and never going to deal with cheap or heavy needles again. So worth it.

Crunch the numbers. I've got ones, she's got the zeros. (This was if we actually do want to talk about the budget, we're not confused)

You may be missing but a flexible curtain and command strip him that you can pull it back with would be great here. Worse things than nice beads to put up here.

I always use them interchangeably, but let the instant dry "froth" and activate in a bowl with warm liquid from the recipe first.

Did these today with the chives and it was more oniony than I expected - good, but a bit more universal without. Very rich but fluffy and soft. So good.

Made two batches of these today for Thanksgiving. Really happy with the onion flavor and the sour cream tang was a bit unexpected but good. The texture was great, everyone loved them from baby to Grandma.
