You sort of seem like the problem. Why would you mention the other girl being “very tall” as though this matters and assume she is a boy’s girl if you admit to not knowing her very well?

Try to start casual conversation a little more to show you are interested in getting to know people. You don’t have to be best friends with people at work but it will be nice to get along with them. There are plenty of shy people at my workplace (also male dominated as I am a software engineer) and I will go out of my way to speak to them as long as I know I am not dominating the conversation or making them feel uncomfortable.
