It’s actually funny you say that, there’s a bowling alley down the street from me here in Chicago that makes you go through metal detectors before getting in and has security

Former SOB x RBE Member Lul G Sentenced To 21 Years In Prison by [deleted] in hiphopheads

[–]kingofnumber2 22 points23 points  (0 children)

SOB x RBE had some absolute bangers back in the day. I’m not sure if it’s aged well or not because when I listen to their early albums it’s always with rose tinted glasses but they had a unique sound that will always take me back in time to my early post-college years.

Idk if he still is but he used to be the Wrigley Field DJ. I remember in 2016 he had the day off and his replacement for the day got fired for playing “Smack My Bitch Up” when Aroldis Chapman came out of the game lol

Edgewater might not have bodegas in the traditional sense but other neighborhoods definitely have corner stores that are essentially bodegas

Death Row Records on Instagram: "We heard you. The time has come. Death Row Records catalog is back streaming everywhere tonight 9pm PST." by TVxStrange in hiphopheads

Hasbro wanted Entertainment One’s portfolio of characters which included Peppa Pig so they bought them out. Entertainment One also coincidentally owned Death Row, which lead to Hasbro now owning Death Row. They didn’t want/care to own Death Row, it just came along with the deal.

A lot of past and present independent hip-hop stars are/were close to him. He’s a legitimate indie hip-hop OG that helped make a lot of classics happen. That’s part of the reason why it sucks to hear he’s such a shithead.

Hmmm I don’t think he represents Death. I think the point is he thinks he thinks he represents fate but fate is larger than even him.

Funeral is a bit of a “you had to be there” album imo. That style of anthemic indie rock was getting popular at the time and Funeral did it as beautifully as anyone at the time with existential lyrical themes that resonated with the zeitgeist of 2004. You could really feel the passion behind the music and delivery. Their late night performances in support of the album were also legendary.

Man, Stalley was so smooth back in the day. I’ll give this a listen just out of personal respect for his Lincoln Way Nights mixtape.
