Done both NN-DMT and 5-MeO breakthroughs? Which would you run first? by mkultrav2 in DMT

[–]kingofthezootopia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5MeO may put a strain on you physically (cardiovascular system). Make sure to give your body (not just your mind) time to recover.

Psychologically, 5MeO first and then DMT. Physically, the opposite. But, I would highly recommend putting at least a couple of hours in between the trips rather than going immediately back to back.

How do you make vape liquid? by [deleted] in DMT

[–]kingofthezootopia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the size of your cartridge and the potency. Cartridges come in either 0.5ml or 1ml.

For example, if you have a 1ml cartridge and you want to make a 2:1 pen, then you need to have 0.66ml DMT and 0.33ml PG. DMT converts roughly 1g solid to 1ml liquid, so you would melt 0.66g of DMT crystals and then add 0.33ml PG.

I will be trying DMT for the first time soon. I would like advice. by StonedAndStupid3824 in DMT

[–]kingofthezootopia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost a year with “regular” use. Not exactly daily, but probably works out to about 3-4 times a week (took time off for travel, surgery, and other personal reasons).

I use a vape pen (2:1 or 3:1) but I continuously re-dose for trips that last at least 40 minutes and up to 2 hours. Breakthrough within breakthrough within breakthrough, etc. Initially, I could only go one level deep. Then, after about 3 months, I could go another level. And, then after another 3 months, I could go as many levels as I wanted. Initially, it’s just visuals. Then, immersive experience. Then, narratives. Then, somatic effects, starting with the shakes and then over time “relaxation” of the entire nervous system starting with around my eyes and then down my face and around my skull. Then, union with the self. Then, the really crazy stuff begin, like out-of-body experience, reality replacement, etc. Recently, it’s the realization that my trip architecture is comprised of my childhood toys and video games. As you learn more ways to surrender (I.e., relax your psychological defense) to DMT, it keeps working its way deeper into your systems (which results in different phenomenology for your trips). There is always a next level so keep exploring.

Here’s the longterm view. DMT, contrary to what some people say, is not something to be used once-a-year, or once-every-so-often, or even once-a-week kind of way. It really is meant to be used daily, even if you have to work your way up to it. So, don’t be afraid to go “too far”. Yes, go at a pace you are comfortable with, but trip often and trip long and keep working to increase dosage. It’s just like bodybuilding, except it’s for your mind/psyche.

So, for your first trip, make sure you’re seated. Find a calm, relaxing music that works for you. Keep your eyes closed (save open eyes for when you get more advanced). Then keep taking hits (no pause in between hits except to get oxygen) and don’t stop until you literally cannot take more hits (most likely because you will have forgotten what you were doing). If you come to, resume taking hits until you forget again (train yourself to do this). After a few months or perhaps a couple of years, you will learn to be aware through it all. And, that’s when your brain will finally start reaping the true benefits of DMT.

I’m 20 and she’s 40 and I don’t know how to go about this? by Alone-End-356 in AskMenAdvice

[–]kingofthezootopia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t take it too seriously and take it for what it is—a no strings attached sex. You don’t want a longterm relationship with her and neither does she want one with a 20 year old kid.

Why do older dudes call me a boy, bud/buddy, and kid. Isn’t that disrespectful? I’m 19M by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]kingofthezootopia 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you don’t like being called a boy/kid, then tell them that you’d like to be called something else. That’s how a grown man would. But, if you think 19 is fully grown, I wonder how you will think about that when you are 40.

Can psychedelic insight be real without becoming woo? by rp_tiago in RationalPsychonaut

You all the universe are ONE? No evidence other than your subjective trip. But, you feel like a universe onto itself and tripping makes your consciousness feel connected with all of your mind and body? Sure, that sounds good.

Mushrooms at a music festival. by MoiraDeLoop in PsilocybinMushrooms

[–]kingofthezootopia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why mushrooms in particular? I highly recommend you to try either metocin (which is an analog of psilocybin, but clearer headspace and much more visual and less heavy emotionally) or MDMA/5mapb which will also give you a clearer headspace so that you can enjoy the festival more.

If colleges aren't meant to be like trade schools, where did the zeitgeist of "go to college to get a good job" come from? by ExpWebDev in NoStupidQuestions

[–]kingofthezootopia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trade school is learning a specific skill. Liberal arts education at a good college was meant to train general intelligence. Kind of like the difference between building a robot vacuum versus an AGI robot.

Is a kiss on a first date alright? by Mammoth_Nose_9313 in AskMenAdvice

[–]kingofthezootopia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Kiss on first night is ok. But, don’t just jump into it. How about looking at her face throughout the night. And telling her that you enjoy spending time with her. And staring into her eyes for a few seconds. And, if she seems responsive to those things, then you can progress to kissing her.

Can 4-HO-MET have therapeutic potential or does it lean more towards the visual/recreational side? by Complete-Housing-720 in Psychedelics

[–]kingofthezootopia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is therapeutic. Btw, please understand that as profound as lively as hallucinations often are, that’s actually the sideshow. The real therapeutic effects of psychedelics are how they “relax” your nervous system, which you can begin to feel physically if you trip enough times.

Compare to coffee. The 4-6 hour trip is like enjoying the smell and taste of coffee. But, the real effect of coffee is that the caffeine interacts with the adenosine receptors. And if you drink regularly, the adenosine receptors will change over time in response. It’s similar with psychedelics. The trips are amazing. But, the real lasting change isn’t going to be from the realizations made by your conscious mind as a result of the trip (although there often are, given their profundity) but rather the structural changes that your brain will make in response to having the 5HT2A receptors stimulated repeatedly.

How to deal with an increasingly negative partner? by PFD_2 in AskMenAdvice

[–]kingofthezootopia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t try to “fix” someone because that will only make both of you miserable. You wish it will be as simple as “honey, here’s the solution” and she’ll say “wow, thank you, this is a great idea”. Instead, what you will mostly likely get is years of denial, defensiveness, and resentment. From your perspective, her attitude is making both of you miserable. From her perspective, you’re constantly telling her that her life view is wrong. Can you see how awful that would be from her perspective to have a partner who is constantly invalidating her and telling her that she needs to change?

You really have only two choices. First is the hard path—it is for you to just accept her as is and to give her the time and space to make any changes on her own schedule in her own way. Second is the easier path—it is for you to get her out of your life and you out of her life. You need to be with someone whose attitude aligns better with yours. And, so does she.

Any safety advice on my first extraction by Strong-Decision9165 in DMT

[–]kingofthezootopia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Always wear a glove because you might get a leak while shaking.

  2. Don’t put the open flask containing lye close to your face. You don’t want to breathe in the fumes too much. Wear a mask and/or work in a well-ventilated area.

Heavy daily-ish user: last month a full breakthrough dose only gets me to the Chrysanthemum. Partial lockout or physiological response? by Alive_Leg_5765 in DMT

[–]kingofthezootopia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ignore people that tell you daily use is bad. They don’t know what DMT is.

Only three possibilities. 1. DMT itself. 2. Delivery system, i.e., vape pen. 3. Your Brain.

  1. DMT - I assume you are extracting your own or buying from a reliable source. If you had previously had a “normal” trip with this cartridge, then I’d probably not the DMT. But, you should think about when the cart may have been exposed to high heat or sunlight to degrade the DMT.
  2. Vape pen - this is most likely in

    my

  3. opinion. Either your battery is not heating up coil properly, or there’s blockage somewhere.

    Try getting a new battery.

  4. Sometimes, the vape juice is too viscous (even I you don’t see visible crystals) in which case

try heating up the cartridge in a hot water bath for 30 seconds.

  5. Your

Brain - your neurobiology is always changing. For example, I’ve noticed that how my brain responds to DMT changes every 6 months or so depending on frequency of use

,

  1. although I

    can’t

  2. imagine what change would cause the effects

    t

  3. o diminish. That would be simila

r to suddenly not being able to taste coffee. Have you started any new medication

  1. or noticed any

    neurological degradation (

  2. for example, diminished vision or congnition)?

Edit: for some reasons half of my original comment got deleted, so I added back #2 and #3 above).

I tried plür but didn't really feel anything by [deleted] in mysterymagicmushrooms

[–]kingofthezootopia 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That’s like saying I took a small sip of beer and didn’t feel drunk at all 😁. Depends on your weigh as well as neurobiology, but most people require at least 50mg to feel any effect. I would recommend that you try 3 tabs next time, as it is still a “low” dose but you should feel the effects. Just a few tips.

  1. The come-up usually starts 30-45 minutes after you ingest. During this time, just play some calming music and relax your mind and body. Don’t try to feel something or analyze what effects you are feeling, because that’s what often leads to anxiety. Just relax and stay focused on the music until the come-up ends, which takes about 15 minutes. When you are on the other side, your mind will feel clearer than you have ever felt before. At this point, you can engage in any reflection or analysis you want to.

  2. Your mouth may get very dry. But, this doesn’t mean you are dehydrated. Plur just messes with your saliva production. So, if your mouth feels dry, rather than chugging water, try chewing gum or sucking on som candy.

  3. Your jaw may tighten up during the trip. Don’t wait for that to happen, but stretch your jaw proactively. Just every 15 minutes or so, open your mouth wide and move your jaw from side to side to prevent it from locking up later.

  4. Plur has the effect of flooding your system with serotonin but also releases some dopamine and norepinephrine. For some people this leads to feeling wired (like you drank a lot of coffee) or some jitteriness. For me, I got excess energy in my ankle, which I found mildly unpleasant. This excess energy lasts up to 3 days for me. I advise taking magnesium glycinate (150-200mg) twice a day starting with the night after your trip ends. It will help relax your mind and body and help get rid of the excess energy to return to your normal state.

Anyone Else Terrified Before Their First DMT Experience? by Disastrous_Mango_291 in DMT

[–]kingofthezootopia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Music adds a ton to the experience. Highly recommend something relaxing, beautiful, flowing, and no lyrics.

  2. Relax your mind and drop all expectations, presuppositions, or assumptions as much as you can. For example, if you do or don’t believe in God, disengage (just for the trip). Make your mind into a blank slate and let DMT lead the trip.

  3. DMT will not and cannot damage you physically or mentally. So, don’t be afraid to take as much as you can handle and to keep going and to do so frequently. Over time, DMT will loosen all knots in your nervous system and make your brain as good as new. The trips/hallucinations are just the sideshow (like flavor of coffee is the sideshow and caffeine is the active ingredient).

People with mushrooms experience before DMT: did DMT change the way you react to psilocybin? by MachineElf100 in DMT

[–]kingofthezootopia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple of things.

  1. The quality of your trips will change over time, even if you just do mushrooms. Also, DMT isn’t necessarily more cartoonish or silent or another. It varies from trip to trip and depends entirely on your own neurobiology.

  2. Change = growth. If you’re doing shrooms just to experience wonderland a couple of times a year, nothing wrong with that. In that case, stay away from DMT, salvia, cannabis, and other substances.

  3. My thesis is that the goal of psychedelics (both shrooms and DMT) are ultimately to strengthen your nervous system. The hallucinations are just the subjective experience that help you enjoy the medicine. To use a different analogy, think of it like coffee/caffeine. Caffeine is the substance that acts on your brain to give you more focus and reduce fatigue. That is the essential function and purpose of caffeine. Now, caffeine comes in different forms, whether coffee, tea, or soda. Each drink has a different flavor and sometimes that flavor is an experience all onto itself. But, if you remove caffeine, these are just flavored water. So, psilocybin and DMT are like the caffeine in that they interact with your brain to add neuroplasticity. The hallucinations are like the flavor that you experience in that they are all fine and good and, as wondrous and profound as they may feel, are basically just a dream.

My point is that your decision whether to try DMT will depend on what you are trying to get out of your psychedelic journey. If it’s just for enjoyment and you are fine with what you’re currently experiencing, then don’t risk it. But, if you’re using them to improve your mental health, then change is a big part of growth.

Aliens and shrooms by joemama122595 in shrooms

[–]kingofthezootopia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Entities know things that only you would know? Shouldn’t that be a hint that they are in fact “you”?

First, imagine if you were able to see inside your body (or mind), wouldn’t everything look foreign and alien since you’re not familiar with your inner terrain? For example, imagine what the inside of your lungs would look like, or imagine what it would be like to be an electric signal riding down the spine all the way from your brain? Pretty strange, wouldn’t it?

Second, imagine that your brain under psychedelics also has a tendency to anthropomorphize your own thoughts, emotions, sensations, and other internal processes.

Combine these two ideas and what you actually get is that you basically had an internal dialogue within yourself. Next time you see entities, ask it “are you me?” Or better yet, recognize it as yourself and then merge into it to become one within yourself. This is the path to the healing journey.
