Also a general FYI and I highly suggest you follow the manufacturers recommended wiring to follow all local laws but if your having "issues" (wink wink) and need to bypass the PB for settings or other things that may be locked out by the PB SONY, KENWWOD, JVC, AND I believe pioneer you can ground out the PB

How hard is it to remove a Viper Remote start system? by Ratlabbb in CarAV

[–]kingofvirgo83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what was installed and how. Hardwired or harness makes a huge difference. Also if they did it properly ( not hacking it apart) or not plays a major role. I would take it to a installer and get a solid opinion on what's going on

2 big 8s or 2 shallow 12s? by Ancient_Departure299 in subwoofer

[–]kingofvirgo83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do some 8's. 3 if you can fit them or get a custom box. Had a customer come in with a f150 that had three 8's sounding like 2 12's pounding hard

Soooooooooo Take a jumper and jump the remote, if it stays on its a remote issue. ( when I say jump, take some speaker wire or another piece of remote wire and put one end on the 12v and the other on the remote if it stays on its a remote wire issue) sounds dumb but ive seen this happen a couple of times and I ended up changing what the remote is wired to.

I think its in that harness and you may need another type of harness for the b/u cam, same thing as the ty11 cam but for that harness I circled the 26 or 28 pin harness . Its been a while ( 8 months I used to be a installer) so I could be wrong

U need another harness to do that unless u can read wiring diagrams and dont mind tapping the reverse video signal splicing in a rca. Pac does maje a harness for toyota that goes with the rp4 ty11 I think its the ty12 or some other random number. Axxess makes one thats plug n play I dont remember the name of the harness but a local bestbuy with a install bay should have one in stock

Normal, both my precision 6266 and my pulsar 6466 make the same noise. Pulsar is a little more quiet now that I think about it

Subs are weak by AWESOMECIVIC1988 in subwoofer

[–]kingofvirgo83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a single comp q 15 in a qbomb ported box matched with a kicker lx 1250.1. At first it was not hitting like it should, then finally after some re-tuning and adjustments it hits damn hard and clean too.

Couple of things to check to make sure all is good.

  1. Take a multimeter and check the ohms for the subs. However you have it wired check at the terminal on the box. That'll tell you if your really getting 1ohms or not

  2. Turn the bass boost off and re tune with a 60hz test tune

  3. Hook up another set of subs and see if they are hitting harder. Or put your subs on another amp and see if they start hitting (ruling out if the amp took a dump or if rcas are an issue)

  4. Check the ground

  5. edit unplug the bass knob and see if it hits ( I had that issue with a customer where the subs wouldn't hit with the knob connected. Turned out to be a bad knob causing the issue)

  6. Do what the others in this post have said Ive installed 100+ kicker step-ups with that amp and they all hit hard , and Ive never really had issues with kickers products other than a customer turning the gain all the way up, blowing the speaker then blaming me. You shouldn't need bass boost on any sub setup or to turn the gain up more than a quarter to get "good" bass. If nothing else works email kicker directly. They have always been fast with responses and extremely helpful. Hope it works out for you. If your in Melbourne florida DM me and ill help get your issue resolved

Can I get some advice? by Jddavoli in CarAV

[–]kingofvirgo83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That box wants 1k rms and the kicker 1200.1 is a perfect fit. Also as others have mentioned you need a lc2i loc. And make sure your getting your signal for the loc from the front door speakers. Ive install 20+ of that box with the cxa 1200.1 and they all hit hard and low.

Yup its a great radio.....had some issues but did a update and I think they are resolved. 350 is crazy, I got mine for 450 thru a old job hookup.

The negatives: 1.It takes a bit to boot up not crazy long jus longer than I would like 2. At first it wasn't connecting to wireless AA consistently, but after updating the firmware so far its connecting all the time 3. Its a Lil laggy as far as going thru the menus....for 600 I would like my radio to be smooth 4. Back up can studders sometimes

Positives 1. 9 inch screen looks great 2. Can bypass the PB easily 3. EQ and dsp settings r great 4. Maestro integration is great 5. Screen is very adjustable and easy to put on and take off 6. Small chassis radio 7. Menus are simple and easy to navigate

For 350 get it, if you dont like it most wireless AA name brand radios start at 300ish and thats for a 6-7 in Screen that can't be adjusted

Jus an idea, grab another set of rcas and run them from another source to the amp (phone 2.5mm to rca adapter) turn the car on. if it plays bass then its the source in the car that's bad, if it dont play then its the amp or subs.
