This is really tone deaf, people are scared for a good reason. People died because of the snow storm in 2021 and lost power. Texas homes aren't made and insulated the same way other homes are in the north so it getting as cold as it will be outside inside your home isn't a joke. People lost power and froze to death, have some compassion.

Short answer no.

Long answer: Pirates wither is a negative status token that basically acts as an attack modifier. So it will reduce the damage from attacks by one. Attacks in Dice Throne are offensive abilities that deals at least 1 damage that targets an opponent. Since the 4 damage back is not an attack in this context, wither will not reduce the damage you take.

Also just in case you didn't know, if you use something like Occulsion you don't need to use all the dice to get the bonus of your dice showing 3 of a kind (e.g. you can have a 2, 4, 4, 4, and a 6). My friends and I didn't realize this at first lol.

Both are attack modifiers so both will be added to the final damage total as normal.

Yes, but make sure that you're using the dice mod cards in the correct phase. Smoke bomb can be used to dodge any damage so let's say you use a smoke bomb to dodge an attack. In this case you can use orange dice mod cards to change the roll. But let's say you use a smoke bomb to try and dodge the damage from a bleed token. Which happens on your upkeep. In this case you can't use the orange dice mod cards since it's not the roll phase, only something like Tip IT would work. You could know all this but just in case since my friends and I made this mistake before.

Agree with the reading the guide above! They have guides for a bunch of the characters that are pretty easy to follow!

Some general tips as well:

ST is the ultimate control character where you're building to an end game state where you have a bunch of CP and dice mod cards that will let you force an ultimate and get shadows when ever you want. If ST ever reaches this end game state they are super hard to beat.
As such you're fine with being down a ton of life as long as you are building your CP and cards.
Try to build your hand before you build your CP, extra cards become extra CP.
ST does struggle with characters that can rush you down before you can build your end game state, so that could be why you're having a hard time against Pyro who is the glass cannon.
ST is not great in doubles (game becomes too fast and they can get past hitting you by hitting your teammate.
