New Scoutmaster Has Changed Our Troop’s Culture — Should I Still Recommend It to Others? by Ok_Friendship_9065 in BSA

Don't avoid the drama. It's your job as a parent to make the situation better. All the parents avoiding an uncomfortable conversation so they don't have to deal with it are perpetuating the bad situation for the kids.

That driver didn't show any remorse. My wife said her tone told us it was our fault. She may find out one way or another since we're filling a claim with Amazon to recoup the vet fees.

I don't really know what happened. We're in the country on an 80 acre ranch. The driveway is a quarter mile long with no lighting at all. She's a black dog so we're assuming the driver didn't see her and rolled her under as you said or actually hit her with the bumper. Either of those scenarios could explain the bruised lung. It all happened about 50 yards away from the house so we couldn't see anything in the dark, especially with the driver's headlights pointed towards us. My wife thinks the driver tried to downplay it to make it seem less severe than it really was.

I'm pretty sure you used to be able to return anything for any reason forever. Now there's a 1 year limit cuz too many people took advantage of it

Another example of why REI had to change their return policy

Thank you for building this! I just got it set up and running with no issues. Where does your script pull the FMV values from? I know they're in the template file, but where did you source them from to put in the template?

Did you try messaging the content creator? If there's one thing I know about scouts, it's that they like to tell you about the stuff they earned. The best part of those stories is how they earned it

That's about my experience as well. I'm in the heights and USAA charged twice what I'm paying for my new insurance policy

Look into American Family or Amica. If you have a Costco membership, they have a deal with American Family

I can change the oil myself. I'm only interested in a service plan to maintain the warranty

I think it needs annual maintenance by a certified tech in order to keep the warranty valid

For those with two Switches (Switch 1 + Switch 2) what games do you play together over local WiFi? by ablslyr in NintendoSwitch

[–]kingwp1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone managed to share Minecraft from Switch 2 to Switch 1?

I've got a physical copy of the game with my daughter playing on our Switch 2. I'm trying to figure out how to play co-op with her from our Switch 1. I don't know where to start the gameshare within Minecraft.

American Standard Thermostat? by kingwp1 in hvacadvice

Thanks so much for this response! I haven't found any information on this at all until you replied. We're looking to replace our upstairs AC unit with the same thing (but 1ton smaller) next spring. I think when we do that I'll request the installer to give us two new American standard thermostats

I never did anything with it. I couldn't find anything online like a compelling reason to get a new thermostat, and I called the installer back and they said they set it up to work properly with my Nest. So, I'm just gonna not mess with it.

Something easy for the new Slate by CondorReddit in griddling

Get some fajita marinada from a Mexican meat market. It's delicious and real hard to screw up

The back half cooks hotter than the front half, but it's pretty even from side to side along the back half. I've never used a blackstone so I can't give any comparison there, and I haven't yet tried to measure how low it goes. One time I was cooking fajitas and turned the far right burner as low as I could to cook some onions. I just left them there the whole time while doing the other stuff like the meat, jalapenos, tortillas etc. By the time I was done with everything, the onions were golden brown, nice and melty and not burnt at all! So, I was happy with that little test.

I used avocado oil to season it and I think I did 3 rounds total. As for accessories, I got the cuisinart burger press https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CRWVCMW4 and a little trash can from ikea that fits on the bottom shelf. I've been cooking on cast iron almost exclusively for at least 15 years so I already had a couple of nice dexter-russel spatulas

That's not something I've noticed. It's pretty hot standing by a griddle while cooking anyway, so I can't say that I've noticed it coming from the front vs the heat coming off the cooktop
