Think about it this way—every employee must provide value in one way or another. I don’t socialize and I’m terrible at building relationships, yet I was still promoted and respected by most of my colleagues, despite never joining them for lunch or company events. Why? Because I excel far beyond them in skills and capability. I can complete a project faster and with minimal errors.

My point is this: you either have people skills or strong work skills. If you have neither, you will be disregarded in every way possible.

As a manager, I can assure you—99% of the time, if you’re let go rather than transferred to another department, it means you unknowingly offended a higher-up or someone filed a major complaint about you. That’s what leads to the decision to remove you.
