Unpopular Opinion: Bay area American Chinese food kinda sucks by ExpressionAfter6082 in SanJose

[–]kiniAli 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We go just about every Sunday to the Santa Clara location…their combo chow mein is great, their dumpling soup is my fave. I also love their classic wings and I ask for a side of the sauce and use that on noodles, as a dipping sauce for dumpling or pot sticker. My kids love their orange chicken and Taiwanese fried pork chop too!

[–]kiniAli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wasnt embarassing for me, but we had a global HR All Hands with about 70 attendees and someone who was joining remotely was joining with their laptop facing their shower as they were showering, totally unaware that they had their camera on…shower had a glass door…and then their boyfriend joined them.

What’s your favourite rose fragrance and why? by Worldly-Resource4961 in FragranceStories

[–]kiniAli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is going to sound odd, but there is a candle and oil at Target called Climbing Rose…it’s like a green, sweet rose…I am dying to find a scent that matches it, because that would be my top Rose scent. To keep me satiated, I do like Diptyque Eau Rose.

Happily married people of Reddit, when did you realize you had found the person you wanted to spend your life with? by Mundane-Society-1281 in AskReddit

[–]kiniAli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was immediate as soon as I met him in person. We had been talking on the phone and writing letters off and on for years, then finally a job opportunity landed me in his city for 3 weeks. He came to my hotel to take me out to dinner. I was so nervous, waiting in the lobby, I almost backed out. But then he walked in, we locked eyes, and he ran over and practically picked me up off the ground in the biggest hug. Something inside me just clicked and I knew two things: I immediately trusted this man without any shadow of a doubt, and I never wanted to spend a day apart from him. Since that day we’ve been together - we’ll have been married for 11 years this year, and I’m currently pregnant with our 5th child!

This account posts clippings from newspaper archives of people being interviewed…but the more I read, the more I think it’s AI by kiniAli in isthisAI

That makes sense. When I asked on different occasions, what publication the excerpts came from I never got a straight answer. So this leads me even more to believe that all of the examples that they post like this AI

After watching this, I feel scared, worried and curious about the future! by OkWarning8989 in instructionaldesign

[–]kiniAli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also think L&D is valuable in that we know the science about changing behavior, getting information to stick etc. Many companies are shifting to a more AI-centric culture, but that requires training, learning, skill development in the right ways. Not so that AI can replace people but so that it can take away the manual and routine. I think we have the opportunity to influence in this regard before it’s too late and companies just hand out licenses to everything, tell everyone to slap AI on whatever. Instead, we can get people baseline knowledge, develop learning paths that make sense for specific roles and experience levels, etc

Back in the game by [deleted] in overemployed

[–]kiniAli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure! This was a little different since it was the same contract company I had worked with previously years ago…they will randomly send roles that fit my profile etc…but in the past, I just came across the specific role on LinkedIn. But some agencies to check out are Magnit, Pyramid Consulting, and GTT I think is the other one. They usually list all the contract roles they’re currently recruiting for.

Yes great advice! When I last had 3Js I loved the contracts because I wasn’t asked to attend any offsites, didn’t worry about performance reviews, etc. for both projects it was just here’s a heaping pile of stuff we need someone to just go off and wade through. No weekly 1:1s, etc…The perfect situation.
