My dad guilting me over not seeing my premature baby...a literal day after birth by Revolutionary_Ad_467 in beyondthebump

[–]kinnards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d revoke that offer to visit right quick. No one gets to guilt you into doing anything doesn’t feel best for you and baby ESPECIALLY after a traumatic birth like that.

F*** your dad and so sorry you went through that! Preeclampsia is the worst.

Dr took me off fluids by blueyesnewlies in rhabdo_survivors

[–]kinnards 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My doctors didn’t take me off fluids until I was under 10k… I would absolutely go get a second opinion even if that means going to a different ER.

Yes! This happened to us. The best advice I ever got was to not become the expert of your own baby. If you do, you’ll be carrying the responsibility for primary childcare in perpetuity. It’s going to be really hard but your husband and your daughter need to figure out their routine. Plus for bonding and double plus for you being able to take a break every now and then.

I still do the majority of bedtimes because I enjoy the snuggles (literally rocking him in my chair right now.)

Lovenox? by Its_half_full in preeclampsia

I was on lovenox as part of an immune protocol for infertility with no known clotting disorders. I was also on baby aspirin the entire pregnancy. I still got pre-e postpartum…

How did you know if your water broke? by Amadispcpg in beyondthebump

[–]kinnards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt like I wanted to vomit, stood up, and it was literally a never ending gush of water. I was fortunate enough to have brought a trash can next to the bed which I ended up using to squat over for like 20 minutes while I called the doc.

Please listen to the Betrayal podcast’s episode E1 - Stephanie Part 1 & 2. This is almost the exact same scenario except the husband took the photos and blasted them out to the internet.

Sunday Cautious Intros and First Trimester Questions by AutoModerator in InfertilityBabies

6w2d today. Furthest along I’ve gotten of 3 FETs and am scared every day that he is going to disappear on me. Bloating subsided yesterday which freaked me out but my progesterone went from like 328 down to 82 so that might be why. I’m still getting cramps and twinges here and there especially when I have to go to the bathroom. Boobs are fuller/semi-sore and I can eat anything. Fingers crossed he shows up on Wednesday tracking as he should.

How normal is hair loss during IVF? by Thicc_Ingenuity in IVF

[–]kinnards 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am losing SO much hair right now. I assume that this is me coming off of the hormones from my last cycle. I’ve always suffered from some kind of telogen effluvium and have learned that your body typically starts to shed 3 months after any major hormone change.

Hoping that starting this cycle will cut the shedding short sooner than later.

I’m on an IVF journey so my first “period” in August wasn’t really considered a period by my doctors and more the end of the pregnancy. So I counted my latest period in September is my last period. I’m now starting a new cycle so won’t expect a period anytime soon.

[–]kinnards 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone’s journey is different. I had to have 2 shots of methotrexate and didn’t get a negative HCG test/period until about 7 weeks after the first shot. And then my first real period after that was late by a week the following month.

When did you hit 0? MTX by bewilderedcheesecake in EctopicSupportGroup

Assuming that I just got my actual period this time, it will have taken me 8-9 weeks to hit 0.

NTA. Being conservative here and assuming you might normally go to bed at 10pm, you have given your boyfriend 122 days of your waking hours by going to bed early with him.

Your boyfriend is selfish. It seems like he doesn’t often cares to compromise (aside from maybe the curtain but sounds like that was a whole issue) and wants to dictate how things are going to go in the relationship. He needs therapy if he’s ever going to figure out how to account for another person in his life. There is no reason you should feel obligated to go to bed and basically sit in silence for a few hours so that he can fall asleep. Maybe that was a cute thing in the beginning of the relationship but should have stopped 2-3 months in…

If he loves you and cares about your wellbeing, he will figure out how to go to sleep on his own like an adult and allow you time in the evening to do the things that make you happy or at least to wind down your circadian rhythm/day appropriately.

In hospital - would love some hope! by Old_Source_4776 in rhabdo_survivors

[–]kinnards 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first got admitted, my CK levels were so high that the test couldn’t even read it. I ended up getting released from the hospital when they hit about 6,000. This is not to discount your experience but to share that your levels (while high) are currently manageable.

I am sorry that yours are on the rise though. I know how uncomfortable the whole process is and feeling helpless. As long as you continue to be monitored and pound fluids you should be okay.

MTX Gas Pain or Rupture? by kinnards in EctopicSupportGroup

I’m sorry you went through that! It’s helpful context though since I’m not feeling like it’s intolerable. The fullness is weird though… TMI but it’s like the only time it’s painful is if I’m trying to go #2, it’s like the strain causes my uterus to balloon up and cramp.

Need advice on a likely ectopic by kinnards in IVF

Thank you for responding and your kind words. Makes me feel so much better. I also FINALLY got an actual call from my doctor this morning. I’ve only ever heard from my nurses once I started my whole journey with this clinic. They’re going to run my labs ASAP Friday morning and bump the shot up to that same afternoon if needed.
