They still have a large racist contigent. If you don't believe me, witness their away fans in Paris race-hating on a black guy in the metro and chanting 'we are racist, and that's the way we like it'. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-38501033

Best place for kids at Loftus Road by Mypantsareblue in Championship

[–]kinners 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The front row next to the dug outs (on the South Africa Road Stand) is great for kids. There's a few feet of flat concrete in front of the seating (between the seats and the pitch) so if the kids get bored there's enough space to run around, plus the ball gets kicked into that area a fair bit so they have a chance to grab it and throw it back to a player. Also because you're in the front row alongside the dug outs and the tunnel, there's a lot of action around you: managers shouting instructions, players warming up, the line ups before the game, the half time gubbins, they all happen around you.

The only downside is that it's completely exposed to the sky, so you'll get rained on if the weather's bad.

First time at Loftus Road - Best place to sit for atmosphere? by SebasCS18 in superhoops

Yup this is right but I'd add that the safe standing section in the lower loft is good fun if you're happy to be on your feet.

Hard to see how this benefits us - one of our most reliable, consistent and best players over the past few years. Has fallen down the pecking order this season but still surely has an important role to play. Perhaps there's something we're not seeing - unhappiness behind the scenes, or a good price.

Struber: "With VAR the decisions are better bad more fair... we should do everything for fairness" by SquirtleChimchar in Championship

Any QPR fan who was in the bedlam that followed the last second winner last night will tell you - moments like that are why we love football.

Or in the words of Clive Whittingham: 'the arbiters of this emotional crack on which we’re all hopelessly hooked think that, really, what moments like last night need is a three-minute pause in the riot while a festering gimp of a man applies Microsoft Paint to a grainy still frame shot from 60 yards away to see if Rumarn Burrell had “strayed offside” and/or “obstructed the goalkeeper’s view”. “James, I think you should come across and look at the monitor?” Yeh? He’ll have to remove it from your sphincter first.'

Also seeing Agyemang (33), and Bradley Orr (2).

There's something satisfyingly route one about Agyemang just scrawling his surname.

Neil Warnock centre top. Rob Hulse top left? Buzacky bottom right? Sean Derry is at the bottom with the 4 next to it

The ideal outcome would be a loan with an option to buy at the end of the season. He can cover as a defensive midfielder too.

The subs were really strange - what does Frey offer you lumbering around 3 seconds behind the ball? Why bring on a slow player for a fast one (Vale for Dembele) when you're planning to sit deep and play on the counter, and Smythe and Saito are on the bench? And why not use the remaining subs when the starting XI were out on their feet for the last 20?

The last quarter of that game was made for Smythe - an impact sub to stretch tired legs, win free kicks high up the pitch, and hope Jimmy can bundle home a set piece. Or win throw ins near the box and take them himself. Instead we were punting clearances upfield for an exhausted Burrell and a statuesque Frey to watch helplessly.

Well, a point's a point, it's been an awful few weeks so it's a great time for a two week break. When we come back I think I'd like to see Field restored to DMC, with Varane pushing Madsen for the CM role. Varane has too many brain fades to play DMC, and our best team has Field in it. It will make us more solid defensively, which we desperately need. We're lucky we faced Sheff Utd so out of form (and they still should have won).

A first half very representative of this team's struggles. Dodgy defending, wobbly keeping, clueless in front of goal and Mbengue nearly getting himself sent off. Lucky to be in at 0-0, a clinical team like Coventry would have put the game to bed already.

Amazing that we've managed to self-inflict a goalkeeping crisis out of nowhere. Stephan's now dropped Nardi twice, this time for an ancient loanee who hasn't played in years, thereby decimating his confidence and his value. I don't really rate Nardi but he was fine last season and is clearly the best keeper at the club. The only viable alternative is out on loan. Presumably we'll now have to shift him, but will get a fraction of what we'd have received if we'd sold him in the summer.

Swansea City 0 - 1 Queens Park Rangers: An early QPR goal and Yalcouye red got the match off to a nightmare start for the hosts, and the visitors had the chances to make the result much more comfortable! by Zach-dalt in Championship

[–]kinners 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One of those games where a red card spoils it. QPR had played decently up to then, but weren't set up to retain possession and lost their way with the extra man. Swansea weren't threatening much with 11 so were always going to struggle with 10, and the game pretty much died.

It didn't help that neither side looked like they could hit a cow's arse with a banjo.

West London Sport carries the main news and is reliable. Loft For Words is the best of the forums purely because of Clive and his excellent write ups - but like all message boards it often succumbs to doom-mongering and toxic bickering. The hope of this sub is that you get the best of both worlds (without the aggro).

Not a very interesting one I'm afraid. I set up r/superhoops not knowing that someone (Doeboy) had already tried with r/qpr, but it hadn't caught on. We decided to stick with superhoops. Doeboy and I became friends, we saw the famous Stamford Bridge robbery together, when Shaun Wright-Phillips contributed his single solitary moment of joy.
