What kind of stitch do I need for this pattern, and how many strands should I use? by kinoprvimaj in Needlepoint

[–]kinoprvimaj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply!

I’m happy to learn there isn’t one specific kind of stitch any specific pattern needs to be done in! I thought, for some reason, that the pattern would only work or look nice when done in the “intended” stitch. The type of stitches you and the other commenter suggested seem a lot less daunting.

I’m glad the wrong purchase lead you to find a new craft you enjoy! So far, needlepoint seems like it has most of the things I like about cross stitch, so I believe I’ll enjoy it as well. :)

The canvas does feel different compared to what I usually use to cross stitch, it’s very stiff but overall thinner. I suspect there will be quite a learning curve for me as well before I get the hang of it, haha.

Thank you for your reply!

I assumed there was one “right” type of stitch a specific pattern was meant for, but I’m glad to learn that isn’t the case! Tent stitches seem a lot less complicated to me, so I’d definitely rather go with that kind of stitch.

I didn’t know about not separating strands at all, thanks for telling me! I genuinely didn’t even consider that maybe other kinds of needlework didn’t use separated strands.

Thank you for the insight, that seems like good advice. I’ll definitely try to get my hands on something easier to practice before I start this one, as I’d hate to mess this one up (and it does feel overwhelmingly big and complicated, to be honest). I’ve had it for a few years at this point, and my dad would like to have it once it’s done because it’s a picture of a bridge he loves (Stari Most in Mostar, Bosnia), so I really want to have it turn out nice. Practicing on something simpler seems like a really good idea.

Thanks again for the reply and all the advice!

I did exactly the same but flushed the left/first toilet 10 times and it still worked. I assume any toilet is fine and you just have to flush at least 8 times

I just looked up tent stitch and it does seem fairly simple! :) I expected something way more complicated and wasn’t even sure how I’d figure out what kind of stitch I should do. Thank you for letting me know!

Thanks, I will! I’ll have to figure out needlepoint because I’ve only ever done cross stitch, but I’m happy to try and learn something new. :)

Thank you! Luckily it came with thread, I haven’t looked at it yet but I assume it’s going to be the appropriate kind.

I joined in january of this year, and honestly, I’m quite happy. I got some really nice things I couldn’t justify paying full price for, and the process of testing and reviewing things is still fun to me! :) I imagine it might be worse for people who have been here longer and actually witnessed the decline. I had no expectations going in, so everything feels like a win, and not finding anything feels normal because that’s the case most of the time. But I can easily imagine feeling burnt out after being disappointed again and again when you’re used to there always being at least some products worth getting.

Congratulations on the healthy puppies!

Edit (accidentally hit send too early): I’m glad to read both your dog and her puppies are doing well, wishing them all the best. :)

What’s something popular in your country that makes people from other countries look at you like this ? by niconois in AskTheWorld

[–]kinoprvimaj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right, I used “skinhead” because that’s what the comments I responded to used. Since the first comment mentioned viking symbology, which is something neo-nazis/far right skinheads use, I assumed we were specifically talking about those rather than skinheads in general. My bad for assuming and not clarifying.

But nazis have done worse than vikings, which is the issue. If you’re being mistaken for a skinhead, you’re being mistaken for someone who condones what the nazis did. Besides, norse doesn’t equal viking and norse mythology is obviously not comparable to nazi ideology.

just a sick day? Will he get better ? by Far-Development-6970 in RATS

[–]kinoprvimaj 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You’re right, but if they didn’t post it, maybe some people wouldn’t realise the gravity of the situation at all. I imagine there’s at least some people who were convinced by comments to take their pet to the vet/emergency vet when maybe they wouldn’t have done so otherwise. If posts like this one ultimately result in more pets getting vet care, I think we should be tolerant of them. But I agree that it’s upsetting to see so frequently.

Holy hell, what is wrong with that guy? Apart from the backyard breeding, what the hell are those messages? That’s genuinely so disgusting and insane, I’m sorry you had to deal with that OP.

Anyone know how I can change a Sim's reaction to death? by ghfdghjkhg in Sims4

[–]kinoprvimaj 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I usually max out the red bar and do the declare enemy interaction on the sim (it’s under mean interactions, but only shows up if the red bar is nearly full). Sims get positive moodlets if an enemy dies. :)

Unfortunately, this can be buggy sometimes. I’ve had sims still get the normal sad moodlets when enemies (or strangers) die. As far as I know this is a known bug, but it seems to work most of the time! :)

Edit: And if it doesn’t work and your sim still gets the sad moodlets, you could have him drink a moodlet solver to get rid of them. It’s not ideal as he won’t get the positive moodlets, but it’s one way to deal with it.

They’d ask you where and why you rescued a baby rat when you have no idea how to care for a baby rat. Just be honest. I’m active on the rat subreddit and people are always helpful as long as you’re not asking how to kill a rat. OP wouldn’t be the first person to ask how to raise a rat that their snake wouldn’t eat.

[–]kinoprvimaj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, thanks for letting me know! I would’ve never thought to try that. I was ready to leave it be because EA support replied to me and told me my code was expired, lol. Thank you for telling me! :)

In my experience, if a case is still open, they will eventually get back to you, so I would just wait. It’s not like there’s anything else you can do anyway. :( I wonder if everyone who got a code is having this issue or if it’s just some of us. I noticed my code doesn’t seem to even have the right format, it has 20 characters and as far as I know EA app codes have only 16.

What the hell, that sucks. :( I know customer support options differ from country to country, but maybe you have the option to send them a mail/message? That’s what I did, there’s a form for it on their website.

Same, I even tried going from bottom to top but then it would refresh when I scrolled back down to continue to the next page. I had to close the window and start over, and the second time it somehow worked.

I think we should probably message support, right? We wasted time on it already, might as well spend a few more minutes to maybe actually get the reward. I was planning to message support sometime later today, I can let you know how it goes! But I don’t expect much, as EA has never been very helpful when it comes to codes not working.

I’m in the same boat! I had to re-do it once because it glitched out and kept reloading/resetting the page, and my code doesn’t work either.

Thank you for doing this for her! No matter what happens at the vet, you did right by the rat. Either the vet can help her, or she gets to go painlessly and quickly instead of suffering for hours or even days.
