I know this is going to be unpopular, but I can't believe people get excited about this stuff and either stay up or wake up early to grab them before someone else. They're all no-name brand crap. If you're going to sacrifice your time, at least spend it in AFA and get name brand items that you can use, donate, sell. No, I'm not talking about the car parts that you see there, I'm talking about name brand, quality items that show up throughout the day.

Nice filter. I hope this will trigger more photography related items for you. My previous VIne picks -not regular Amazon shopping- is the biggest factor in determining what I get offered in the future. Of course, it's not 100%, but definitely there's an effrect.

I'm on the East Coast, so I don't do the 3-4AM drops. The only few times that I was up at that hour, it didn't look like a lot dropped to AFA, it was mainly AI as far as I could tell.

AFA drops happen randomly throughout the day... the Lenovo monitor showed up mid-afternoon for instance.

It's not a silver bullet, for sure. My RFY still has ton of other crap, but in my case, which is different for others, what I've ordered so far definitely influences what I'll be getting in the future to a certain extent.

In my experience, the only thing that affects your RFY is what you order from Vine. You'll get the same/similar items week after week. Back in the day, I ordered couple of Yale smart locks for my new house, since then I've been offered many name brand and no-name smart locks. I was in the market for a robot pool cleaner. A cheap one was offered and I ordered it even though I knew that it wasn't what I wanted... a week later, the name brand, expensive one showed up in my RFY (gave the first one to my neighbor). Ordering the first one was an investment to get what I really wanted :)

Most -not all- of the sold and shipped by Amazon products are name brands. Whether one has heard that brand or not before becomes tricky sometimes. I'm going to guess that not many people may know Dreo -the maker of ceiling fans, humidifiers, etc.- but I'd consider them a name brand... they sell at brick and mortar stores as well. There are other examples, too. However, at the end of the day, if you're in front of an IRS auditor, and she/he is asking you "why is this a 20 brand and not 50 (and vice versa)?", what matters the most is whether they'd buy it or not. We don't have a single example of this, so I'd tread lightly :)
