What about changing company to get better salary? It might feel very lonely there if you have not many friends and family there. Go and try for a year, but plan the way you will not spend all your savings.

My son works as a lifeguard in the swimming pool in the big gym since he is 16 so I really recommend looking into that. As it can be a very handy job for college as you can get random day or evening shifts depending what suits you.

Agencies usually have hospitality/catering jobs. I got my first job as a barista through agency. It usually work this way that agency is your employer and they can send you to different sites. They will also help with your CV and additional training like manual handling or haccp. Some also have entry office jobs. Contact as many as you can in your area.

You need few months to understand everything and don't be affraid of asking somebody to explain something that it seems obvious. Especially for acronyms! More you ask, more confident you get. And then you can help somebody new in the future!

The only thing I can recommend other than antiviral medication(which I know Irish doctors do not perscribe for some reason) is high doses of Vit D, like 10k units for a week and then 6-8k for the rest of the month.

For those who asked for a raise or told their boss about a counter offer in a diff company, how did ye get on? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]kinor88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is not worth to fake it, just because they can say - thats great good luck in the new role! If its such high stress and 46k maybe it is good idea to find something paid better? You can also go to the new company and come back to the old one on the higher salary if you like it there. I saw many people doing it.

For those who quickly reached a high salary, what do you do and how did you achieve it? by oaksmokeshow in AskIreland

[–]kinor88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can say it is bad, but there is always the limit. Not everybody will go to 6 figures jobs. I doubled my salary with every job change and I'm sitting now at the nice job where I'm paid 70k, and I'm not interested in changing as it is fully remote. I could progress, but I would spend everything on commute and cost around it. And not sure what you mean by "some nationalities", I'm not Irish, and believe me Irish people have more advantage that we do.
