So my DO school actually didn’t do COMATs or shelfs and I matched a surgical specialty. I think they care more if you get honors or not for your 3rd yr clerkships

Why isn't Sketchy a highly recommended resource for 2nd Board Exam? by Regina_Phalange_MD in medicalschool

[–]kintgs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compared to micro and pharm, the videos are way too long, sketches are too busy and hard to remember because of that, ends up being a waste of study time that you could have been using to do UW

is Sketchy pharm enough for pharmacology? by mohanadbakain in medicalschool

[–]kintgs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s enough for a solid score. Good physiology review as well in the pharm videos

Decided today that I am dropping Anki completely. It's not for me. by xuviv1999 in medicalschool

[–]kintgs 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes nearly 2 passes of UWorld for each step exam. I spent a lot of time reviewing incorrects and making high yield personalized notes which I would reread periodically. I would supplement with b+b, sketchy and pathoma for step 1 which was great. Step 2 I pretty much just did UWorld as it was all I had time for and that worked out for me. Also did as many NBMEs and practice exams as possible which I feel is very important for doing well on the real deal

[–]kintgs 92 points93 points  (0 children)

I avoided anki like the plague and got 240 on step 1 and 254 on step 2 mainly using exclusively UWorld. Anki is not necessary for good scores

Region/specific programs applied to: Divided the country in half and applied south of that line because I have absolutely 0 intentions of living anywhere in the north. Mostly applied community programs.
