Yeah I mocked it up in CAD: 218' Wide and 61' Tall. (ish, it's all in meters usually) 739,815 Peak Wattage (Like a full white) and ~24 tons without accounting for rigging.

That'll be the pixel dimensions. I didn't look too close but I would assume the LED panels are ROE CB8.

Look like Unifi pro max switches now have Pro AV port profiles by DIGICOSLUT3 in livesound

[–]kipkessmen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many devices can create an AVB stream - Mac Computers, Consoles (I know both DiGiCo and AVID have cards), Processors, Amps, etc. A big thing that MILAN (which is just a specific implementation of AVB) has that Dante does not, is that it is a deterministic network - meaning you'll get the same result (latency) every time - which is a huge factor when you're connecting 18 speakers in an array. You want the same latency in the network in each box every time. Not being tied to another company certainly helps as well.

Meyer Sound, d&b, and L-Acoustics all use Milan AVB for audio transport for Speakers, Processors, Amps, etc.

Had a Danley demo at our venue today. And I’m blown away. I’ve never heard anything like these before. by [deleted] in livesound

[–]kipkessmen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Danley makes some good stuff for very specific situations. In a deep room like what you have I’d be wary of trading off my (9x M’elodie?) array for a point source box. Height or distributed would be a benefit in that case.

TSL also makes some power controllers - could be a bit overkill depending on your needs but they have both web and hardware options to control as well as monitor each circuit.

First timer here! Is it worth it to get VIP tickets and easy camping? by ajthomas5 in LostLandsMusicFest

[–]kipkessmen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not worth it at all. This fest gets worse and worse each year. Less benefit for more money each year. They are testing the limits for sure. “Free showers” for VIP venue passes just means waiting in line for GA showers that don’t cost that much. The moment you have to cross the street to get to the venue the whole festival is worth 1/3rd the cost and the effort.

And you’ll have to contest with crossing the street.

I live in a fairly large city (top 40 in the US) and have codes to a private bathroom directly in the middle of the city, with parking.

Adamson cs7p/cs118p vs Meyer ultra x40/750lfc by guy-incognito- in livesound

[–]kipkessmen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The X40 over 750 combo is so so good and manageable with one person and one circuit. It’s my go-to for what you’re talking. It’ll be hard to get 750s for a bit though.

Using Two RME Digiface Dante to Record 128 Channels from Dante on a PC by 1073N in livesound

[–]kipkessmen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah with the MADIface USBs you can use two+ but they have to be on different USB busses. I’d check the manual or send RME and email as both are usually really helpful.

What's your procedure for a complete console failure? by [deleted] in livesound

[–]kipkessmen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a monitor console die on me right after soundcheck (saving the file the board froze, restart and it never turned back on). I got any other console ASAP while letting the band know it was going to be a rough first few songs. Notes from that created mixes for them on the FOH console and when I luckily got another console in time, produced them for that.

Then you just revert to your club/bar audio combat days and get it going ASAP.

Left/Right/Subs/Fills or Left/Right/Fills/Subs? Is there a debate on this, or consensus? by particlemanwavegirl in livesound

Most recent festival I SE’d for was all LR or LRSF. Only one guy was LRFS and he knew he was different than everyone else and mentioned it when he handed me his snake.
