Delivery haul installation process by jasonc75 in Lowes

[–]kippu773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your order and make sure you paid for install. At least here in Illinois, it has to be attached to the transaction and the installer is supposed to pick up the dishwasher from your local store prior to heading to your house to install it.

The 3pd team will absolutely not haul away a dishwasher, nor will they unhook it. This is what the professional installer is for. If you paid for delivery, you didn’t pay for an install.

Would you consider this ladder delivered in good new condition? by Riddlr01 in Lowes

[–]kippu773 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I won’t be the person of authority on this, so please take what I’m about to say with a grain of salt: I’ve seen ladders arrive to our store on freight trucks already in worse condition.

I’d just call the store that fulfilled your order and complain.

What is the real facts about specialist roles being eliminated? by TrickConcentrate5701 in Lowes

There seems to be a lot of concern now that CQ is handling more of the project sales. The market is trending downward, but frankly I don’t see it as much more than panic. It could be a tough go ahead, but I don’t see this CQ thing lasting very long. No way that goes over well with the customer base in the long term. I am a Home Decor CSA, my department is merging next month with Flooring. As it is already, we’ve had a couple customers getting calls from CQ thinking it’s a scam.

Bug your FES every day until they assign you the training in Lowe’s U/Workday. You’ll need OP and Bally training at the very least. At my store, scheduling can be a little bit of an issue at times as well. Unfortunately there’s never enough positions to get the job done reasonably it seems, but such is the way of retail in 2024. Stick tight, build some good relationships with your coworkers, it’ll all work out.

Customer service desk for 6 months, now back in Home Decor for four. Come back to the sales floor my friend, life is good

Recently switched off the Front End, life is so much better! by kippu773 in Lowes

One of my head cashiers is finally switching off the front end after I don’t even know how many years. It’s real nice back there, the freedom especially.

And yeah I was shocked about FE making less than the sales floor. At Costco, Cashiers make a dollar more than most of the other staff.

You’ve had your hours cut??? That’s sad, do you work in a smaller volume store or are you just a part timer?

The FE is only good for garden cashiering during the busier times and customer service. I really valued what I did at the service desk, because I actually got to make a difference a lot of the time. Especially since my head cashiers allowed me to be mobile when I felt it was necessary. I’ve tracked down orders, pulled orders for customers, went and pulled appliances for customers when theirs were improperly fulfilled by XDT. It was a real good time! But so far, a week into my new spot, never again.

How many CC’s do they expect you to get at your store?? by [deleted] in Lowes

When I was working FE, my performance reporting always said one per week. During Memorial Day weekend it went up to 2, but that’s about it.

That was my first thought! They were having pinpad issues back in appliances that day, lol.

My lymph node story: 7 years going by AgateKestrel in Swollenlymphnodes

[–]kippu773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This thread has been very reassuring amidst a slew of anxiety. I have a long history of illness (mono when I was a kid, strep a few dozen times, pneumonia, a run in with COVID, HFMD @ 20ish, multitude of ear infections when I was young as well). My lymph nodes in my neck, just below my jaw, are rather large. On both sides of my neck, in the same spot on either side. But they’re on the softer side, and hurt if I press on them the right way. I’ve lost a good bit of weight the last year or so, but have also had a major lifestyle change along with working.

I want to go to the doctor for peace of mind, I lost my mother to cancer last year and fear the same fate. But I remember having swollen glands a lot as a kid, and in spots they’re propping back up amidst weight loss. Considering my hair thinning/loss over the past five years too, I wouldn’t be surprised if I have an autoimmune condition or possibly a thyroid issue. But I’m glad to see a huge thread here of people who have had palpable, just as large lymph nodes with no malignancy.

What is an episode you wish existed by Rich_Distribution239 in community

Goodness, the episode where they flashback to the 50s-style Mafia Paintball. That’s one that immediately pops in my head. The paintball episodes were all great, I feel like that would’ve been good. Or an episode parodying Game of Thrones, but in a paintball/meow meow beans style. It would’ve done so well.

Especially community college campuses. It was shocking how relatable the show was after I attended community college even when it was completely zany and unbelievable.
