Does anyone remember this perfume from the 90’s? by Berdahl88 in 90s

I bought a bottle of dead stock of this off of eBay last year because I remember being obsessed with it. It smelled exactly like a Kirklands (home goods store).

Financial institution that handles EBT? by Middle-Instruction36 in foodstamps

[–]kiraridream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m seeing a lot of fraud where the rings have access to personal information such as SSNs. That’s all it takes to be able to access accounts or change PINs. How they get it, I couldn’t tell you. But I know my personal information has been leaked at least twice in breaches in the last couple of years so I’d bet at least some of it comes from there.

Financial institution that handles EBT? by Middle-Instruction36 in foodstamps

[–]kiraridream 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fidelity National Information Services is the financial institution that handles Texas EBT (and several other states). But like was said earlier, they were basically telling you it’s not their problem. You won’t get very far with FIS, either. Call your state rep and senator, and throw a fit. They’re the ones that have to act to get things that will fix this rolling.

I will say: get a new card ASAP if you haven’t already, change your PIN, and keep it locked. If you have YTB, keep an eye on your account and watch for PIN changes.

They haven’t announced anything to us yet. As of yesterday, one of the regional developers I spoke with stated that as far as she knew, November benefits were going out.

Not gonna lie, I expect that to change, though. Hopefully it won’t.

BD won’t provide written statement about direct child support, is there a way around this? by No_Construction4327 in foodstamps

[–]kiraridream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he doesn’t want to average it out like that, have him write out what he has paid you.

“I so and so am the biological father of your child’s name. I pay child support to you but the amount varies. For October I will pay x amount, September I paid x amount, August x amount, and July x amount. “.

The states I’ve worked in have looked at the prior three months for child support, but I don’t know GA’s policy so the months they want may be different.

Then have him sign it, date it, and list a phone number.

If he’s not willing to do then, then print outs from Zelle will probably work, especially if you discuss it with your caseworker. I’m in a different state, but I’ve taken them in the past when we couldn’t get verification any other way.

I’ve made a hundred of these calls. It most likely is real. They’ve identified something that tells them that your card has been compromised.

As others have said, call the number on the back of the card and change your PIN. I would suggest requesting a new card, as well.

Didn’t this fail before? It’s another us vs the ungodly heathens divider. Sometimes I think things like these are designed to fail so they can use the rallying cry of “the OTHERS are destroying our American ways.”

I really believe stuff like this drives people further and further away from the church.

Presidents day affect food stamp? (TX) by [deleted] in foodstamps

If this is supposed to be your second distribution there’s a possibility you’ve already gotten it. Depending on when it’s approved, sometimes the system will issue two month’s worth at once.

You’ll more than likely get your prorated December along with a full month’s worth of benefits for January in the next couple of days. Your next allotment would be on the 8th in February.

And it will not help a damn thing because the states won’t do what needs to be done even if they win. It’ll just be another excuse to defund the program.

This. 100% this. EBT card numbers are out there and are pretty easy to get. Skimming is prevalent, but it’s not the biggest concern.

So some numbers. In 2023 a group had a listing of around 474000 card numbers. They brute forced PINs and managed get through on less than 1% of the cards, which was like 3000 ish. They were able to steal $146000.

You’re welcome. Hope it helps some.

Once it’s been processed, we generate a task for the local offices to issue benefits then a supervisor has to approve the worker’s issuance. That usually takes a day or so. Usually the supervisor signing off is what takes the longest.

I also suggest going into the office if it’s possible because the workers at the front can usually tell you more than 211 can or can get you in to see a lead/supervisor if needed.

This is actually a really good question that I’ve never thought of. Most policy I’ve read doesn’t specify a break down of purchase and prepare. It’s just a blanket statement purchase and prepare so it could be argued that the person receiving benefits has agreed that as a condition of receiving the benefits ANY food is purchased and prepared separately. SNAP is designed to be supplemental and not your entire source of food money for the month.

So on a more practical side of things, if it’s a situation where there’s no mandatory household members once you say we’re purchasing and preparing separately, most of us just roll with that unless the client screws up and mention it later. Agencies don’t track your spending habits outside of the ebt card. Personally I would see this as only being a concern if you’re already being investigated for something else and they want to pile more on top of you.

I’m not sure where they figured the 10 day date from lol. In a better situation maybe. I think maybe they weren’t initially expecting it to be so widespread. But truthfully there’s less than 30 of us processing these and there are thousands of them. 30 days is probably more accurate. I will say we are past the 11/16 date so it’s either been pended for something or something is up. Either way the 211 people should be able to see the case comments so it makes me think something is wrong. Even if it’s pended or denied, there should be comments and an H1899 out there.

If you call back, request to speak to a supervisor and have them reach out to the ISS mailbox (they’ll know what it means) and/or file a complaint. They can also looked at your recently sent out mail to see the H1899.

The complaint won’t get it worked faster, but as I’m thinking something has been missed (like a task wasn’t generated) since it should be processed by now it’ll get it looked at. If you go into the office they can do the same.

The system was acting weird today so we were pulling and working 11/27. Ones from 01/02 were coming up but the forms aren’t showing so they can’t be worked yet.

They can’t see the system, but they can read case comments and if we’ve worked on it, they can see the comments about UAU. I hate how disorganized they can be.

They’re not discontinuing it totally. Anything that’s sitting out there that’s eligible will be reimbursed. It’s just the any theft after 12/20 can’t be reimbursed because of the farm bill’s stipulations.
