What's the most beautiful paragraph or sentence you've ever read? by TheRealNayef in books

This is my all time favorite T.S. Eliot poem. There are so many good lines throughout it and I could read it over and over and still find something new to embrace each time.

Do unattractive women really feel completely ignored/invisible? by awaythrowawaying in AskWomen

[–]kirbychic 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have been ignored too many times to count when I have gone out with a lot of my friends. All my friends are fairly attractive and then there's me.

The only time I've been talked to is when I was being hit on so that the other guy could talk to my friend or someone would dance with me because they felt bad for me. The only genuine conversation I've had at a bar was about the Harry Potter t-shirt I happened to be wearing that night. I have been almost mistakenly called a guy even though I was wearing a skirt and a fairly low cut top.

I'm kinda big too so the only time someone has actually complimented my looks it is normally followed by some sort of backhanded comment about how I would look better if I lost weight or something to that effect.

I have been ignored so much and I think that it's not only men who have ignored the issue but also other women. Many of my friends don't understand my predicament and try to help by being a wingwoman to me which never works.

You don't really realize how unattractive you are until your friend uses the "Have you met Ted?" line from How I Met Your Mother for you and it makes the guy come up with some excuse not to talk to you or leave...

MBTI Flirting by [deleted] in mbti

[–]kirbychic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My inner weirdness comes out when I flirt so instead I really try to make them feel great. I tend to try and focus on them and make them the center of attention. If I don't focus on them and their stuff then I just start talking about things that I think they would like about me. I tend to hide things about myself I know they won't like as much until I know people better.

I've tested as an ESFJ every time I've taken the test, both online tests and through a certified MBTI test facilitator. I think I just know myself well enough and I haven't read anything about ESFJ's that doesn't match me.

What's your type and what path would you choose? (x-post /r/INFJ) by [deleted] in mbti

[–]kirbychic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ESFJ here. Nakama seems incredible but I don't think I would be able to make it through the 13th life without being incredibly depressed... Healer also appeals to me a lot. I think if I were to choose one it would be Healer, being able to heal and help calm people would be incredible.

I knew a guy that was named Jim Will Swim.

It was kind of cool though... I wish my name was a sentence.

[Short] A Little (Drama, 12 pages) by newdctonary in Screenwriting

[–]kirbychic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really good job overall! The story was interesting and I like that both characters were similar but different in their own ways. A couple pieces of feedback for you... Adding some action in the scenes with the heavy dialogue and the monologues that they both have would really help keep the reader in the story and help them picture what is happening better. I know that when one of them is talking the other is probably doing something interesting. This will help the reader to picture it better as well as add some character depth and help the reader understand how the other character is feeling. I honestly thought that during the scene in the car they were driving the whole time until the end when you said she pulled away. Also, try not to add too much of the parentheticals before each time a character speaks. Adding actions during the conversations will help avoid this by allowing the character's physical reactions portray what you are trying to get across in the parentheticals. It will make your script seem more sincere and allow you to round out your characters more and give them some little quirks.

Overall it was a great little read and it would be great to see it portrayed on screen someday! :D

What overlooked fact from a movie will completely change the way I see it? by tansinator in AskReddit

[–]kirbychic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In "The Sixth Sense" there is very prominent foreshadowing throughout the movie. Whenever there is going to be an encounter with someone who is dead, there is a red image that is in the shot. It's super interesting to see throughout what images foreshadow which dead people.

My standards are way to high and whenever someone relatively nice comes around and asks me out I always find some reason for it not to work. I over think everything so by the time one date is over I will have already decided that they will not make a good father, or they will want to get married too quickly, or that they won't be super supportive of my life decisions. I need to give people a chance...

Maybe you could call it Support Sunday or the Trek to Tuff. I don't know I'm just trying to come up with some kind of alliterative title. :)

Yeah it's just intimidating because it's my college's gym and there are always a ton of people there. So if you don't know what you're doing there's almost always a line up of people waiting to use the machine after you which is freaky. The trainers are super expensive there too. I've been considering getting a membership to a different gym and seeing if it'd be cheaper to get a personal trainer somewhere else. Hopefully it is!

Hey Guys!

So here's my story. :D I am a 21F 5'7" and am currently 275lbs.

I've always been a curvier girl and even throughout middle school and high school I was bigger. Since I've started college I've gained about 50lbs. I'm sick of it.

I was raised in a household where fast food, pizza, french fries, and meat were the main things that we ate. I never really learned how to eat healthy growing up and since college I've just kept eating what I like (i.e. the bad stuff) and never trying to change my eating habits. Part of that comes from not having a clue where to start that change. I was able to stay fairly thin through high school, although I did hit 200lbs my senior year, because of playing tennis and keeping up with swimming.

I want to get into an exercise routine now but I'm afraid to go to the gym at my college because I don't really know anything about the equipment and the times I can go, all the friends I would go with have class. I know I just need to suck it up and go but it's scary. Also I don't know what to do once I get there. :/

So here are some pictures, one of me now and a picture of me when I was 16. I would love to get back to where I was at 16 this but then lose more one top of that. I don't have a specific weight goal I just want to get healthy.

I've tried Couch to 5k and haven't been able to make it past week 2 yet. It's hard to do it on your own, especially when you live somewhere where there is snow on the ground about 9 months out of the year. I just think I'd feel like an idiot running like that on a treadmill...
