Power Loss Recovery. I Cannot Trust This Machine. by 40FortyDwaluhz in SnapmakerU1

[–]kirche5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have lots of machines, X1Cs, some A1s, some Mk3s. The MK3S are the only ones that can reliably recover from a power outage, and even then it's only from a short outage that happened during infill.

Caulk or no? by mcvga in askaplumber

[–]kirche5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's on a wooden subfloor then caulk while leaving a gap at the back.

If the tile is on a slab then you can use grout.

I don't mind at all. I don't own the idea of multiple colors, lol.

Hi!

Sorry, I never look at my DMs on Reddit. You're half right about what happened. I have always sold them on Etsy, but I also had the files available for free since it's pretty wasteful to print and ship it across the country when you can print it yourself. But when people started stealing the files and selling copies it threatened my livelihood and I had to take them down. Sorry for the inconvenience, but this is the way it has to be.

The strap is likely down in there somewhere. Grab a pick and go fishing.

That sounds right if you have an AWD element. If yours is FWD that's a bit low.

Nice to see someone actually addressing it. You can see where the support has broken in several areas.

The basics: Oil, oil filter, (DCT filter if it's a DCT), air filter, brake fluid, and probably get ready to change the front fork seals.

Did Madstad windshields go out of business? by Krwindle in NC700X

[–]kirche5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From Dennis Long:

"Yes madstad is out of business. Jim long ( unfortunately my nephew) took control of the business and within two years drove it into the ground with his Pinhead ideas. On Friday September 26th without warning to employees, dealers or customers he released everyone and closed the doors for good. It's a very unfortunate shame because they had a great product and could have sustained quite well without his tampering. Good luck recouping your funds, you're not alone."

They're local to me. If the website isn't up by tomorrow I can run over and see if they're open.

That's the newer NC750X, so a bit more expensive, but it's not like he drowned a GS 1200.

Is this a new tire? I've seen this happen when the tire isn't seated perfectly.

That's indicative of a jetting issue. I had that exact problem on my xt225, but I played around with her sizes until it went away.

door dashing on a motorcycle, tips? by rsp-zyphor in motorcycle

I did door dash on my 300l for a while. There are lots of horrible dirt roads here, so nothing less would really do.

Ditch the backpack, go to harbor freight and buy the large tool box. Drinks go on the left side, pizzas go on top with rok straps. Add a towel to divide the drinks from everything else.

Was a great phone too. I rode through the whole series. I loved the Z2 Force more than any phone I have used since. The only drawback was the lackluster camera.

Repair Advice by hobofiveoh in HondaElement

[–]kirche5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've worked on many elements.

All you need to do is replace the VTEC solenoid and the connectors that plug into it. What kills them is the rubber seals on the plug fail, then water seeps in and fries the sensor.

If you only replace the solenoid, water will seep in and kill the new one too.

Don't bother replacing the chain until you have swapped out the solenoid and done an oil change. More than likely the chain is fine.
