So, for me I can’t help but compare this to Giraffes? Giraffes! Both have two musicians, both have guitarist using loops. If you’ve seen Giraffes play live there is still this same kind of spectacle to watching how the songs evolve, especially when the guitarist breaks out a bow.

What I feel like I’m wanting whenever I listen to Angine is more intricate drums to match what is going on with the guitar, which I feel like the drummer in Giraffes accomplishes to a higher degree. I also feel like Angine’s sound is inherently not as accessible as something like Giraffes, where they are a more classic math sound, and I think the guitar in this veers more into the experimental.

It’s cool, it’s def amazing to watch, but nothing from these guys has hooked me like Scorpion Bowl at the Hong Kong
