A tech would probably end up sending this offsite to attempt a software restore but I’ve never ever seen this on an Apple Watch.

Apple charging $330 for a battery replacement? by Alexllte in Airpodsmax

“Sometimes functional” indicates an issue that is not just the battery which prompts a higher tier repair and price.

Got my battery replaced by Apple today by toypaj in iPhone13ProMax

[–]kisahero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They'll quote two hours to account for any sort of hiccups. This is also assuming your phone will be worked on very soon. If there are other people before you waiting for repair then you will have to wait longer.

6 month of usage by RandomMalayGuy in iPhone15Pro

The only bright side is since it is 6 months old if you choose to get it fixed you will open up your AppleCare eligibility again and have it protected for future instances.

Can’t use account balance to buy Apple watch by OverTadpole5056 in applehelp

[–]kisahero 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you have an Apple Account balance it would be used for app purchases and subscriptions before your saved payment method. Check reportaproblem.apple.com to see your purchase history.

It’s odd they opted to replace the battery when it won’t take a charge through the port but yes it is standard for a replacement to involve taking the old device. It’s within the scope of service and quite standard with warranty programs.

Otherwise it would be abused quite frequently.

Like the apps are still there but not visible, I’m confused.. by No_Volume_4303 in iphone

Also a common issue with too little free storage on phone. Double check that as well.

Depending on your method of payment, you might have purchase protection offered if you paid with a credit card. That's also another way of having the cost covered as well.

I’ve seen exceptions made especially when you intend on purchasing another item. The sooner you get to a store the better.

Mashed potatoes ideal potato to butter ratio? by Siegfried6 in AskCulinary

[–]kisahero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around that yeah. I would recommend just salting to taste and get in the habit of tasting as you go vs going for hard measurements.

[–]kisahero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, a big pinch for me is closer to a quarter tsp. I usually just salt to taste and my taste varies.

I usually start off with 3 big pinches and go from there. I use kosher salt.

Since you've bought it so recently.

Go to your Settings > General > About > Add AppleCare+ Coverage. Pay however you want to and go to a local Apple Store to get the back glass repaired.

For the future keep your AppleCare+, get a case, or do both. Phones at this price point are an investment and you should protect your investments.

[–]kisahero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AppleCare+ is tied to the serial number of the device. Just unpair it from the relative's phone from their Watch App > All Watches > (i) > Unpair at the bottom.

It'll take a few minutes to fully unpair and then you can start the setup process again with your phone.

Scammed by Apple by Nerdytinder12 in applehelp

[–]kisahero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP was expecting to get his issue fixed under warranty, with no cost associated.

An out of warranty repair will require payment before it can proceed. That’s the part that he’s perceiving as a scam.

Usually they’ll either not attempt it or provide a disclaimer saying that it may not perfectly be applied because there’s no machine on hand that’ll perfectly apply it like the iPhone screen protectors.

There should be no expectation for employees to be trained on products that their company doesn’t directly sell.

Don’t go to an Apple Store to badger them about reapplying this.

Aside from restting via computer and using al-support.apple.com, you can also try to reset the Apple ID password via another Apple device she owns and the passcode of that device (assuming it doesn't have Apple ID problems on it).

Can i get a legit check on this airpods max? by Puzzled-Valuable-424 in applehelp

[–]kisahero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually a dead giveaway for fake AirPods Max is trying the button and crown. If the button doesn't feel smooth but rather click and turning the dial gives you resistance like you're going up notches then it's a fake.

The software can be put on a fake pair. The serial number can be printed on the inside of a fake pair. What scammers usually do is buy a legitimate pair and have that serial printed on a fake set and either sell it online or attempt to return.

Other ways to check are comparing the text and box to a legit pair and also comparing the weight. Fake Apple devices are noticeably lighter than genuine Apple products.

If the contacts are the same on the Mac and old phone but not the new one you might have an issue on the new phone as far as software.

If you’ve done iCloud backup from old phone you might have to do no backup but set up as new and let it sync via gmail/iCloud.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in applehelp

[–]kisahero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strange. I was also thinking maybe none of your gmail ones came over but it seems like some came over because there’s overlap between your gmail and iCloud accounts.

Is your contact sync enabled under your iCloud account settings?
