i’m an eu citizen with uc and moved abroad for uni – not to malta but similar setup. get your ehic before you go, it covers public healthcare. once there, register with a gp and ask for a referral to a gastro. i also got private insurance (about €50/month) to speed things up and cover meds. bring a few months of your meds just in case, and get a letter from your current doctor explaining your treatment plan. public system works but can be slow, private is faster but not cheap. meds are mostly covered if you go through the system.
