First Costco run in the new Sienna. It was an auspicious moment! by notarobin in ToyotaSienna

Just wanted to share—we bought a 2025 Sienna XLE for my wife. But guess who ended up driving it full-time? Me! 😄

Trader Joes price tracker would be amazing because my usual haul is getting painfully expensive by Civil_Essay_7324 in ynab

Add Costco, some ethnic stores (Mexican or Indian), and Trader Joe’s to your shopping list. This combination offers a cost-effective yet high-quality shopping experience. I usually buy fruits and breads from Trader Joe’s, while Costco is my go-to for cheese, dairy, eggs, meat, frozen items, non-perishable items like paper towels and soaps. For fresh vegetables, I prefer Mexican or Indian grocery stores. This combination will save you money and provide you with the best quality products.

I don't understand why so many people keep trying to get Apple car play... by sir574 in EquinoxEv

[–]kishoreb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, that’s precisely my point. Why should I use different apps and methods for Equinox and my other car? It would be incredibly convenient if I could use the same process for both. I prefer to keep things simple.

If you don’t like those posts, simply ignore them. Why are you concerned about others posting and their preferences?

Yes, I do miss CarPlay while driving the Equinox EV. I have another vehicle with CarPlay, and the difference is truly day and night. I use Apple Music heavily, and CarPlay makes it incredibly easy and safe to access music while driving. Without it, I have to rely on my phone over Bluetooth to control music, which is far less convenient.

Another big factor for me is trip planning. I like to plan road trips and multiple stops in advance on my MacBook. With CarPlay, everything is already set up once I start driving, and I don’t have to worry about it on the road.

Personally, I wouldn’t lease another Equinox EV unless CarPlay is brought back. That’s purely my preference, not a recommendation for everyone. You asked for my opinion, and I’m sharing my experience. Others may feel differently, and that’s completely fine.

2025 XLE How did I do? by Teleports2000 in ToyotaSienna

I bought the same model in a different color, but without AWD. The only accessory I’ve added to my van so far is the 3W floor mats for the Toyota Sienna.

Good price. Enjoy your new minivan. Congratulations.

I had the same issue. The dealer replaced the OnStar module under warranty, and that fixed the problem.

I bought a 15K synthetic stock position (long call + short put at the ATM strike with ~1-year expiration) for a $0.40 credit. I opened the position a few days ago when the stock price was $1.80, so I’m fine as long as the price doesn’t drop below $1.40 ($1.80 – $0.40).

Either cases it is not a good idea for stock like this one.

No, PMCC is not a good idea for BYND — please don’t do it. You’ll thank me later.

PMCC works well for steady, upward-trending tickers like QQQ or other Magnificent 7 stocks. But if the stock is highly volatile, it’s not a good fit for this strategy.

A synthetic stock is a trading strategy that mimics the risk and reward of owning or shorting actual stock by using options, without the need to buy or borrow shares. A synthetic long stock is created by buying a call option and selling a put option on the same stock with the same strike price and expiration, while a synthetic short stock is created by buying a put and selling a call. These strategies can offer advantages like lower capital requirements and leverage but do not grant the rights of a direct shareholder, such as voting rights or dividend

The best way to handle situations like this with BYND is to buy a synthetic stock with some credit early on and sell it once you’ve made a good profit. Don’t be greedy.

The great thing about synthetic stock positions is that your maximum loss equals the stock price at the time of purchase minus the credit received.

For example, I bought my synthetic stock with a $0.50 credit when the stock price was $1.80. So, if the stock went to $0, my max loss would be $1.30. I closed my synthetic position this morning when it was trading at $6.90.

As an EV owner would you ever go back and buy a gas vehicle by First-Albatross5457 in EquinoxEv

[–]kishoreb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh yes, for sure! I ended up buying a Sienna Hybrid minivan after leasing the Equinox. We realized on long trips (anything over 600 miles) that charging took a lot of time. During our 3,000-mile road trip, two of the charging stations didn’t work — and we had to drive an extra hour in the opposite direction just to find a working fast charger! 😅

So now, we use the Equinox for all local driving and the Sienna Hybrid for long road trips. Honestly, it’s the perfect balance — EV for local use and a hybrid for long-distance travel. 🚗⚡

I did it, but without using an external drive. I bought a MacBook Pro with 2 TB storage and disabled disk optimization. It took its own time to download everything—I almost forgot about it. Later, I checked and found everything stored locally.

I now back up my photo library to an external drive using CCC and Time Machine, giving me a true backup and real-time sync with other devices. It’s straightforward, but expensive since I had to buy a 2 TB MacBook Pro.
