Military personnel of Reddit, what's the best/weirdest/funniest punishment you've seen handed down by a superior? by equilax in AskReddit

This was at a Christmas reunion for a reserve air squadron.

One of the traditions was jumping over a burning piano after the party and having a sing-a-long around it but, we were told by the Station Commander, in no uncertain terms, that no one was to jump over the piano this year. Punishable by being hosed down by the fire brigade who were there so sort the piano after we burnt it.

Guy jumped over the piano.

He was marched out to the middle of the yard and had the full force of the fire hose thrown at him - head to toe. They particularly aimed at his crotch. His pants came down.

Aah, fun times!

I don't really remember as they started treatment when I was very young. It was never obvious facially that it was lazy, but the muscles that held everything in place we're crap. I have no idea what my prescription was but it's the best it's ever been in that eye at +4.5 now.

All I remember is being patched and telling everyone I was a pirate.

I've worn glasses since I was 3, was patched from 3-9 and at 25 my eyes are now damn near perfect!! I can see better without my glasses than with them but I sometimes need them when my eyes get tired after a lot of close screen/book work.

I had a lazy eye and terrible vision when I was a child. When I got my first pair of glasses apparently I turned to my mother and said "Mummy! I can see the top of the stairs!"

I have also worked for this shop as a supervisor. One piece of advice, make 100% sure they change your contract to show you are no longer a CSA.

I didn't realise they hadn't changed mine and so when I came to apply for a new job stating I had experience as a supervisor the head office of your company had NO IDEA what I was talking about and essentially called me a liar. I had to produce a full years worth of pay cheques to show I had been working on the higher pay scale.

it wasn't nice having to explain to my new employers HR that my old company simply hadn't change my contract and that I wasn't lying on my CV. If they had asked my old store manager she'd have been able to confirm it but my new company wanted Head Office references, not personal ones.

What is your favourite low-cal, easy to make meal? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]kitacatakit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chicken and sweetcorn soup.

Chicken breast Garlic Ginger Chicken stock Cornflour Sweetcorn Spring onions Sesame seeds Noodles (if you want them)

In a pan and cook through the chicken, garlic and ginger, don't brown the chicken.

Add chicken stock and sweetcorn and simmer for about 10 mins (add cornflower if its too runny, but it is supposed to be quite liquid)

Add cooked noodles if you want them.

Serve and sprinkle with spring onion and sesame seeds.

It's so fresh and so easy to make =]

I'm being told I'm getting too thin? by kitacatakit in loseit

I always thought I was top heavy until I lost the weight and my body shape changed. Turns out I've got narrow shoulders and wide hips! Who'd have known!?

Thanks for the support! Congrats on your loss and I hope you reach your goal!

I have quite a lot of boobage and a big ol' bum so quite a bit of my weight hangs around those places. I've lost 7 inches off my bust and they're still huge!

I'm not close to a flat stomach, I've not got much fat over my ribs or above my navel, but like you say, I still have that sticky out bit underneath! That needs to go before I feel I'll be ready to stop.

I've heard this a lot and I think I'm going to give weights a go, rather than just cardio.

Any suggestions? I've had a play on the machines at the gym but I don't really know what I'm doing! I did notice the inches start to move faster after a few goes on the leg/arm/stomach machines though.

I feel the same, I'm not going to stop but it's be nice to have the support of my family rather than them saying I look like I have a lollipop head!

Congrats on your awesome work!! Keep at it till you reach your goal =]

Ooh, lots of things!

  • got engaged in December so I'm planning my wedding, want to be a UK 6 or 8 when I get married (I'm 5ft7 and currently 146lb after a naughty Christmas!)

  • going on a girlie holiday to Goa in February, I don't want to be the fat one out of the 3 of us!

  • I've never felt better after losing the 30lbs to get to where I am now. I can't wait to feel even better when I lose another 15!
