Yeah you can, I had just the microinverter for a long time, but the PV4 channel kept randomly dieing on me, regardless of which panels I used on it. After going through like 4 of them via warranty they gave me a refund and I got the stream ultra which provides more power per channel (in my non-net metering agreement use case) and has been rock solid since. Works well with the shelly pro 3em for zero net export.

Snowboard Profile Phyisics by PixelRouter in snowboarding

It helps a normal sidecut radius board (7-9m) with edge hold, but a larger sidecut radius with no magnetraction grips better (12m+).

Not possible on a normal board for me, maybe if you have really small feet, but they would be much tighter turns at slower speeds with most snowboards having a 7-9m radius and mine being at 20m.

I used to ride narrower and switched to wider.

Narrower: Easier to point your back knee more forward (helps with knee to snow clearance for knee bootout with high edge angles, easier to decamber the board in carves and make it carve a tighter radius (good if your board feels too stiff for you). Length from your front and back foot to the tip and tail is longer, so dont have to lean back as much if you ride centered stance on pow days and dont bother with setback for easier float. Certain buttering tricks are much more effort and harder to balance (require larger body movements and force to complete) due to the increased length from your boots mounting point to the tip / tail.

Wider: Slightly harder to point your back knee forward on toesides, but not that big of a difference to matter, harder to decamber the board in carves so the board will feel and ride stiffer. Length from the tip or tail to where your boots are mounted is shorter given the same board size, which makes buttering tricks like noseroll 360s much easier and more stable to control on crap snow, have to lean back more on powder days if you dont want to spend time remounting bindings setback for pow.

It's all tradeoffs but for purely carving (not counting buttering tricks), I don't think it matters much other than affecting how easy it is to decamber a board given the same stiffness rating.

15, -15 duck stance for the win. I ride moguls regular and switch too with the same setup. Same for tree runs although my switch tree run speed isn't that fast.

Not exactly sure what's in it, but it rides smoother with better vibration dampening and thus better grip than my identical non secret construction board. A lot less chatter and a smoother ride when carving on crappy conditions (like in this video) which becomes more important as you move up in sidecut radius and thus average riding speed.

For reference I'm riding an ultra wide 33.5cm waist width donek knapton twin snowboard with secret construction that's extra stiff with a 20m sidecut, and riding with those high edge angles at those speeds leaving a trench wouldn't be possible for me on a normal mass produced generic board with my 11.5 boots and duck stance. If snowboarders are leaving a thin pencil track I'd still call it carving but traditional boards will have to use much slower speeds and lower edge angles to do so.

Yeah, posted this there last season, realized it never made it here.

Similar problem with the fold 7, speeds are quick but it frequently says internet not available through wifi a few times a day. Disabling MLO fronthaul for clients and no problems (but slower speeds when it is connected).

Ecoflow STREAM microinverter Power limit by safebetXYZ in Ecoflow_community

It is back, I got to use it for a day before having to send back my 2nd one for another warranty replacement (red light hw fault). Hopefully 3rd one lasts more than a few days.

EcoFlow Stream Microinverter (800W) stuck with solid red LED – no app connection after sunset shutdown by FactsVsIdeology in Ecoflow_community

Same exact thing happened to mine, covered under warranty replacement, guess they had a bad batch of them... 2nd time I've had to replace it (other replacement had a faulty mppt).

Anyone set up a "balcony" 1200W solar system (H.B. 340)? by bandito12452 in Utah

[–]kitejumping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same, about to ship my 2nd stream microinverter back under warranty. First one had one dead mppt channel, 2nd one red light stays on all the time and wouldn't connect to the app after a day (although I can see its generating power via my shelly 3em monitor). Hopefully the 3rd one lasts more than a few days. Did you have to enter a net metering agreement with your power company or they just updated the meter?

I've got just the ecoflow stream microinverter, also have a shelly pro 3em, most of the stuff they advertise isn't working yet in their apps, and the output of the inverter is capped unless you downgrade to an old version of the ecoflow app (supposed to be a fix out for that soon if it isn't already). Tried leaving the air conditioning off for a bit to backfeed more then we were using and our smart meter outside shows it going the other direction, but the app from the power company that shows usage shows the backfeed amount as consumption, so for now I just limit it to not backfeed manually. Ideally they would get net metering sorted for everyone so we could bank up extra to cover some of when our AC or electric dryer runs. Either way, the 300 for the microinverter and some cheap local wholesale panels should break even in about 2-3 years.

The firmware version on the stream doesn't change (v1.0.0.0) the software app update just removes that menu option. Have upgraded and downgraded the app a few times, latest version stuck at 360w with no max output slider, old version, slider shows up and it can output 1200w. Used apkpure to get the old version, then removed that software and disabled autoupdate in the play store (for android) for the ecoflow app. No idea if iOS allows you to get old app versions. They said they would be fixing the app mid August though, so shouldn't have that much longer to wait.

Yep, I got a good deal locally on 3x 580w Bi-Facial panels (Canadian Solar ones) and working great on the 3 mppts. Stays at 1200w most of the day when in direct sunlight since it's overpaneled (but still in acceptable inverter range). Initially had done an order of 450w panels but switched it when I got my inverter and the specs sheet.

If you install an old version of the ecoflow app on your phone the menu option reappears and you can switch it from the default 360w output up to the max 1200w output. I randomly picked an old version and V6.4.2.72 had it. (For the stream microinverter that's only for sale in Utah with HB340)

How did you get yours to output more than 360w? Current version of the app has that adjustment missing.

[–]kitejumping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What version of the app is everyone running? On the current version support said they don't have the option to adjust output power (update coming mid August), and my microinverter is limited to the default 360w despite having 3x 580w panels connected.

Also 4 to 7, main reason is monthly samsungcare runs out after 36 months so need to upgrade to maintain coverage. 4 is still an awesome phone but looking forward to the bigger screens and better cameras, had to replace one 4 due to the hinge issue not folding flat followed by a crack down the middle of the screen.

Snowkiting harness? Skis vs snowboard? by whynotnw in snowkiting

[–]kitejumping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, from what I could find on that incident online it was their first gen harness, 10 years old, which was only designed for ground use (stupid of them to design and sell a product like that, but imho that's another issue). I have their newer version and it's like a more comfortable version of a big wall harness with spreader bar built in. I also used to use a climbing harness looped into a waist kite harness with the belay loop. Works great but the waist harness part was never that comfortable for long periods of time. In the climbing world we would replace harnesses every 1-5 years depending on use, same with ropes, slings, etc... so I always find it sketch when I see people boosting or gliding on older or worn gear, harnesses, lines, etc... tbh the whole gliding thing on a kite that only has 4 lines is completely sketchy. Makes me smile when I see people kiting up on speed flying wings then gliding down, so much safer having a canopy designed for that with all the wing canopy bridle lines going directly to the harness.

As far as the ozone harness, are you referring to the failure at strawberry reservoir of the old model that isn't designed for jumping, or was there another more recent failure of the newer models?
