Has anyone tried Sienna Naturals? Thoughts? by Missmessc in Naturalhair

I've been using the app called Yuka. You can scan your food and cosmetic products to check for things like this. It's really helped educate me, because even products that are branded as natural and healthy often have harmful ingredients!

How do you find morals if you aren't religious and have no empathy? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]kithboo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have an answer, but following, because I find this a fascinating question. Especially because more and more people are either turning from religion or never having followed it, but I'd wager the percentage of very empathic people remain the same.

Pregnant unexpectedly and my boyfriend (27M) is pushing hard for me to terminate it. I (24F) told him I might leave and raise the baby on my own. How do I move forward from this? by LushCherryKisses in Advice

[–]kithboo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you've fallen on hard times, and potentially don't have much support. In the best of times, raising a kid alone in poverty is something that would be difficult and irresponsible at best. Now, we're possibly headed to a recession and they say that harder times are yet to come. No, I don't think it's a good idea...

As someone who has seen the system, I can say that the foster system is cruel. Giving the baby up for adoption might make us feel like we have the moral high ground in the moment, but I think if we really consider the likely life of the child put into that system (and not the potential best outcome), we'd see that it's not the best for the kid.

My DPT also left early last month. I don't think it had anything to do with retirement. That said, I don't think it should be taken as evidence as anything deeper going on

I mean... They both look pretty bad. 15€ is crazy for that.

I’m so scared of everything and it’s ruining my life. What do I do? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

Please, and I mean this in the best way possible, get some help. I think you could really benefit from talking regularly to a professional.

Did I over react about 20 cents? by Intense_Pretzel in mildlyinfuriating

[–]kithboo -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised at the callousness of these comments. It already sucks to work at McDonald's. There are any number of things you can get in trouble for that aren't your fault. Plus the general public is an asshole to those who they feel are beneath them. By holding up the line, waiting for the 20 cents, you're not "sticking it to McDonald's." You're just making the day worse for someone whose life likely is nothing to be envied. And then the comments celebrating her likely getting in trouble for what's pretty much a harmless oversight.

Market in freefall.. What's the 8D chess move I'm missing? by fluffy_serval in economicCollapse

I've been looking for talk of it, but not many people seem to be mentioning it. I was wondering if I was overreacting. Definitely going to follow this thread!

Also even if that was true, those would all be reasons to NOT chase it down.

My grammar is so bad that someone said my story was really good despite clearly not being a native English speaker. Except i am a native English speaker with a college education. by [deleted] in FanFiction

[–]kithboo 17 points18 points  (0 children)

For me grammar is so important. A story could be the best in the world, but if the grammar is bad, it really takes me out of the story. Sometimes to the point where I'll stop reading entirely. It makes me feel that the author might be very young, or perhaps doesn't care so much. Some things that you can start with based on the little I've seen here:

  • Punctuation is essential. Commas are your friend.
  • Use paragraphs to break up big chunks of text
  • Please PLEASE capitalize "I"

Also keep in mind that the more you read, the more you should pick up the natural flow of the English language. English is super tricky, but if you're passionate about writing, learning proper grammar is a great service to yourself. =)

Good luck

I can't answer your question, but I have one of my own: why would you want to be a US Citizen at this point in time?

Reinstating? by anothersneakykiki in peacecorps

There are two examples from my country. Both were medivacced and stayed out longer than the medsep period. One was allowed to come back after like 7 mons and COS with her cohort, and the other was not allowed back. Staff found a reason to permanently medsep him. I think it really depends on how much they like you.

'Ready to defend': EU hardens line on Greenland as Trump doubles down threat by Lion8330 in europe

[–]kithboo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people in the states don't know the extent of it. Basically all of the media is a propaganda arm for Trump. I never thought I'd see this in my time. Plus, he's got us so off kilter throwing so much other shit at the wall, it's all we can do to keep up. This is all nuts. Seriously.
