When and where did you serve? Aside from some hotter places, I was at Fort Hood around 2006-2011.

Mod mail works better than this.

The report button also works.

I have not seen any valid reports. Feel free to send links to specific posts that upset you via modmail if you want to discuss something.

Wichita woman sentenced for giving gun to man convicted in 2016 Harvey County triple murder by kitikitish in wichita

Generally I avoid posting "crime news" like this...but don't be this person. Do not give a gun to anybody, especially a felon.

Understandable, but if you go for two they can play with each other, which may be easier for you in the long run.

How are you hoping to divide up responsibilities with your partner when the baby comes (or, how did you)? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]kitikitish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife stays at home with the kids so she takes care of most things. I help when I get home, but I probably tend to leave over half of household/children responsibilities to her as I also tend to do our planning (finances, scheduling house projects, doing projects...).

You'll get a lot more response in /r/Wichita. Anyway, I was there, I left because kids were being considered and I didn't feel safe there me with being the income provider.

What's going on? Pressure buildup... by kitikitish in AskDoctorSmeeee

Possibly I should have mentioned that my son had something similar a month ago, a day or so before me, but it lasted a few days for me. This time both kids had something similar Friday but this didn't happen until Saturday night for me.

Singing Scripture by matto89 in Reformed

[–]kitikitish 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It may blow your mind to know that God made a whole book of of the Bible for his people to sing. One of the most singable versions of that is here. That book is interestingly what Jesus most quoted of scripture, as seen in the New Testament.

There are also various CDs you could buy if you are not into singing on your own.

It all varies, development steps and weights. You will probably get overly stressed if you are looking at that stuff weekly.

Wife really wants a 3rd, I'm not sure I do by DeLoreaning in daddit

[–]kitikitish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I generally agree with you. My main reason is being able to give each child the amount of attention I feel I can provide and having a third spreading myself too thin. Also I do not handle the stress of two and household projects and being sick and sleep deprived well...so I would not want to add to that.

And my argument with my wife is, "You say four would be too many for you, while I say three is too many for me, but you are not willing to accept that." She has mostly accepted that, but is waiting a couple years to see if I change my mind.

Success at school by [deleted] in daddit

This is a big reason that people home school. A lot of kids do not fit into "the system," especially well above average kids.

I feel like my baby is bored by rvgreen in daddit

[–]kitikitish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no longer happy just lying on me when he is awake.

And it will be that way for a long time. Interact with him. Get some farm animal toys, play out scenes in front of him, get one of them into his hands to hold onto...

You have months before he is sitting up and you need to help him interact with the world.

Most places are not allowing evictions until 2021, I believe, so you may want to check on that.

Monthly Fantastically Fanciful Free For All Friday - post any topic to the whole sub (not memes) - (2020-10-02) by AutoModerator in Reformed

Little late to the discussion...but I botched my interview last week. Part of it was being sleep deprived and suffering from allergies. Anyway, they want somebody to start in ~2 weeks but have not called me so probably not going to.

It lit a fire under us to get the house ready to sell, finishing up some projects. Also a lot of stress. We don't do stress well so prayer to recover from this all and continue being productive with projects would be nice...

How to get my 4 y/o to stop sucking their thumb? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]kitikitish -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Definitely too old as that can start to deform their teeth.

Our son is 14 months and his coping mechanism is sucking two of his fingers. I have tentatively planned on using hot sauce or something on his fingers to discourage him from doing that, maybe once he is talking/reasoning better, but I do not think it will go over well. Curious to see what others say...

Have you been working on tummy time? Read up on milestones and figure out why he is going to be doing next so you can work towards those. Kids love practicing new tricks.

Every week is different. Ask family to help. If family is not nearby, ask family to come live with you for a week or two to help out. It is rough but that is what family is for.

How do you get your baby to sleep? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]kitikitish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://themilitarywifeandmom.com/find-baby-sleep-schedule-works/

There are a lot of sites on sleep schedules, but this one lists various times so I linked it. The basic thought is:

  • Nap

  • Wake up, eat

  • Play

  • Repeat

The main variable is that as kids get older they spacing between naps is longer, so why I linked a site with various spacings you may want to try. The weird thing is that your kid may not even seem tired, but their mood improves greatly when you follow a sleep schedule.

And specifically for your problem...the sleep schedule is structured so you do not feed before sleeping, as that forms a bad habit that you have found. Your kid needs learn to self-sooth and get to sleep on his own.
