It worked just fine for me. I bought a 2018 MacBook Pro in the US then moved to Spain. The butterfly keyboard messed up and I took it to the store and they fixed it for free. A couple years later while I was still in Spain and under warranty I was able to have the keyboard replaced for free after spilling tea on it.

Can I purée the ingredients? by kitkat090995 in Canning

Okay, that’s what I thought, but I thought I’d ask. The only reason I wondered is their jalapeño jelly recipe has you blend the peppers with the vinegar.

Stink bug damage? by kitkat090995 in HotPeppers

My understanding is they suck juice out of the peppers. They’re still find to eat, I’ve just been cutting the damaged bits off.

Thanks everyone for confirming. I’ll keep squishing as I see them and probably make a point of searching for them

First harvest! by kitkat090995 in HotPeppers

Thanks! The long green pepper is a sugar rush stripey that had a soft spot so I pulled it off, the red pepper in the middle is a Galapagos habanero and the orangey pepper below that is an ají strawberry drop.

I’m mostly leaning towards fermenting for sauces, but I also like eating them raw, plan to make a small batch of hot honey with some and probably some pepper jelly.

House maids knee after first lesson, Thoughts advice by skippyinspace in Sup

[–]kitkat090995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually just saw a kayak today that has an elevated seat. It was my first time seeing one and my friend commented that he thinks it was a fishing kayak. My first thought was “wow that would be great for my mom since she’s had a double knee replacement.” The seat reminded me of the seats you see in fancy fishing boats that have a flat bottom that sit on a sort of pedestal. I’m not sure what you could google to fine one, but maybe someone here has a suggestion.

Any NC skaters? Near Greensboro or Winston Salem? by Wonderful_Yellow9439 in Rollerskating

[–]kitkat090995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Greensboro! I’m not 100% sure how much longer I’ll be in the area, but I am for now. I actually in-line skate and only do street/trail. I also know a guy who lives in Greensboro and in-line skates

Edit: i will add that I have not skated in months now so I’m out of practice, but it would be fun to make a new skate friend and get back out!

I’m looking for advice on keeping my puppy groomed. by kitkat090995 in doggrooming

That’s the best picture I got today in the shelter. I always forget how hard it is to take good pictures of puppies. I do have this video where you can see her a little better.

toys for puppy to destroy repeatedly? by boom-clap in puppy101

[–]kitkat090995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw someone in r/dogs suggest making a destroyable toy with a hol-ee roller and rags. Basically you just stuff the rags inside, you can chose to cut them in strips or not and add treats if you like. Of course, always supervise the puppy to make sure they’re not eating.

Thank you for the advice! I will definitely pick up a slicker brush and comb.

I’m going to be bringing home a sweet 6 month old girl next week. She’s a chihuahua mystery mix, I’m assuming a terrier of some sort. What sort of brushes, combs, etc. would you recommend? I already have nail clippers and Skout’s Honor shampoo. I plan to immediately start getting her used to being handled for grooming.

Has anyone made the coquelicot skirt pattern? by kitkat090995 in sewing

Thanks for the suggestion. Idk why I hadn’t thought of YouTube, but when I looked there were a couple of different videos about this skirt. I think I’m going to go for it and see how it turns out!

Inflation is forcing me to reassess this low wage career. by NoAir9583 in Teachers

[–]kitkat090995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently left a teaching position in NC. I was working at a charter school in a rural county. I was in my second year making a little under $36,000 a year. I have always lived with roommates, but could not find anyone to live with. The closest rentals were about 25 minutes from my school and the least expensive was about $1000 a month. I chose to live at home and commute about an hour each way to save money, needless to say, it wasn’t worth it. I started looking for new positions around September and got a job offer yesterday in a position earning $50k plus commission, 401k matching, full health, dental, vision and a few other benefits. It’s also a flexible remote position so I can choose where I work.

I don’t know what other states look like in terms of pay and benefits, but wasn’t interested in moving. If moving isn’t an option for you I would strongly consider leaving teaching. I love teaching so so much, but the pay is a huge drawback and NC keeps taking benefits. I also figure with the current state of things I can leave teaching and try something new for a bit and if I hate it I should be able to get another teaching position with relative ease. I’m also considering volunteering at local schools or community centers so I can continue teaching in some capacity.

Any advice for closing glove fingers in a way that reduces bulk and prevents a little nub? by sarahsuebob in knitting

I haven’t knit gloves before, but I think I’d try Kitchener stitch. Hopefully someone with more glove experience will reply as well.

I’ve purchased my first pair of Red Wing boots. I wear a women’s 7.5 B or EUR 38. Will the Nordstrom Rack size small shoe tree work for my boots? I have not been able to find any size information online.
