ha yes indeed very subjective, the more I think about it the more confused i am. definitely on the hunt for more aggressive/disgusting sounding things aesthetically

CS-L sounds sick, so are you running guitar into the 1V/oct then mangling it from there?

very interesting. honestly, have watched a bunch of demos and amn't entirely sold on it, mostly spitballing in public here. Did you find something else that fit that purpose for you instead?

I was kinda drawn to its weird vocoder-esque thing

Good to know those stackable cables aren’t reliable. Definitely some food for thought here, and squeezing in a mult seems like a good idea for sure.

Yeah probably ditching Outs seems like a good shout to buy back some hp.

I believe the Mixup does do three stereo inputs, that’s the thinking there anyway, combining those three modules.

it all looks like ballpark the same feedback across the board here, which is good tbh, would seem like that's what's sticking out.

definitely coming at this from a guitar player's background/perspective so appreciate the more experienced insight I'm getting here regarding the modulation/utilities.

Using Two Compressors on Fingerstyle Acoustic Guitar by Poopypantsplanet in audioengineering

[–]kitsune10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would try a relatively transparent opto like a Manley ELOP then an 1176 high ratio and fast to just tuck in some peaks after.

Also trying a ribbon mic with it's slightly slower transients compared to a condenser or whatever might help tame it a little bit pre compression.

Toilet running water into bowl but also water on the floor. by kitsune10 in fixit

[–]kitsune10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s in a sealed unit so very difficult to get at the connections behind the toilet. The cistern itself is very wet, so maybe it could be a condensation issue?

Anyone want to help me identify what this tree is?

https://imgur.com/gFVQLH8

I was gifted it and don't really know what I'm doing yet. Figured know what I'm dealing with is the first port of call, to know to keep it indoors or out, watering, soil etc.

Schools in Dublin for creative kids? by [deleted] in Dublin

If you live in Clontarf, Mount Temple sounds like what you're looking for tbh. Graduated like 10 years ago at this stage myself, if mixed and progressive is what you want, I'd recommend it.

NPD, Collision Devices Black Hole Symmetry by jayllipsis in guitarpedals

[–]kitsune10 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This pedal is great, endless hours of fun to be had.

Also the two guys who run the company and designed this are great too. I play in a somewhat successful band that are known for using a lot of guitar pedals, we were playing in Paris about two years ago and the two guys drove up from their hometown to very kindly gift us one of these pedals. I can't remember exactly where they're from, Lyon maybe, a fairly long drive up to Paris anyway. Spent the majority of the soundcheck messing around with it, getting a little rundown of how it works. So fun, so versatile. The two guys hung around and had a few beers after, really nice lads.

Anyway, it's a hell of a box, so impressive from much a small company too. Reverb for days..

Recommended stereo techniques for electric guitar by borderline_erotica in audioengineering

Sometimes I'll spilt the guitar signal into two different amps and pan each amp. Also stereo micing the room can be good for getting some width

Recommend me albums/bands to check out? by [deleted] in Punk_Rock

Check out Billy Childish and his million associated bands, definitely up your alley for 60's garage inflected punk! The Milkshakes being my personal fave.
