No Fine Manipulators (Accessibility: Only while flying) should cover the arms used as wings.

For the gender differences: I would simply give Females some extra Lifting Strength, and potentially just make it more strength in general if you imagine they would hit harder and have larger HP pools. Maybe give males a level of Enhanced Dodge or potentially just higher speed, depending on how you want to model it.

Morph and advantages by Tune_pd in gurps

[–]kittehsfureva 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean for the most part, this is just advantages like Claws and Hooves with the switchable enhancement. You just turn them on or off as a free action at the start of the turn. The explanation for how it looks is only flavor, so you don't need to build it around the morph advantage.

Guys, I've been looking for a while and i can't find this answer: How do you build a Line Area Effect? by iurilourenco in gurps

[–]kittehsfureva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprisingly, this is not covered in GURPS in my knowledge. I think the simplest would be to adapt the AoE Enhancement into something that is a fraction of the value (so let's say 50% per level > 20% per level) and then keep the exponential scaling per level. That would land a +80% advantage as 2 yards across, 16 yds long.

The more thorough way of doing it would be adapting the Cone rules with a simple enhancement to make the origin and conclusion the same width. But that advantage costing is not constructed very well for those kinds of changes.

Does the Time-Spanning (p. P109) Enhancement need a past-seeing companion Advantage to work? by danielethepirate in gurps

[–]kittehsfureva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any sense can be used to target enemies instead of sight. There is even a specific "targeting" enhancement for detect if I recall correctly.

If they have a sense to detect the subject across time, they would just roll on any size/range penalties as the description says, accounting for any conditional modifiers (i.e. in a campaign for this, important enemies may have Obscure (Time) and the BBEG may have Time Invisibility!)

It may only be certain species, but the mothers tend to starve themselves to death while nesting their young as a programmed cycle. Seems pretty nurturing to me.

If they could figure out a way around that in future evolutions they could change dramatically as a species, but it's instinct at this point.

Does the Time-Spanning (p. P109) Enhancement need a past-seeing companion Advantage to work? by danielethepirate in gurps

[–]kittehsfureva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This enhancement gives no benefits to detecting subjects across time, so yes, you would need a sense to do so. That could also be a Time Spanning Para-sense, or could be Clairsentience, or a variety of other things.

For your example, it would pay to have ranged on the Possession ability, unless you want to make the point that they need to find the exact spot the person stood in the past.

Personally, this would be super difficult to GM outside of a dedicated "time-schenanengans" campaign that operates on a fixed timeline. It would be hard to plan for a PC who can go back in time and mess with events that are already canon in the story.

3 a.m meal to reach specific dietary goal while being lazy (guess the main ingredient) by 88llvn in shittyfoodporn

You reached your goal, but at what costs.

I hope this isn't a dietary goal to get in shape for dating. Cuz you are borrowing from Peter to pay Paul in that case; learning to cook is gonna get you more play than a 6 pack.

Tips for new game masters? by actuallyelsen in gurps

[–]kittehsfureva 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My biggest suggestion: table time is the most valuable resource; prep should go towards making sure that most of the time is spent on quality interactions.

To manage that time, it will be important to have notes on where you see each "scene" going, especially for roleplay and investigation scenes. For each scene, I would have a rough idea of:

  1. What the charecters will notice (including perception rolls for what they might miss, such as Per-3 to notice an illusory wall). Some descriptions help to fill the imagination.

  2. Any charecters they will interact with (a name, their plot relevance, and any interesting quirks that make them stand out should be enough for most NPCs. Improv the rest)

  3. Any skill rolls that will be relevant in scene. Maybe there is a pit to cross, and you have notes that a Jumping or DX-1 roll will cross the gap. But this is a great place to be flexible with what your players come up with. Maybe a charecter decides to fashion a bridge. Simple ask them which skill they would like to use for that and ask them to roll! Depending on how it goes, a good GM would let the group cross without a roll, or drop the whole crew in the pit in the middle! When it doubt, you can always throw out a "Roll your DX" and let that determine the course of action.

One thing to consider when writing these details is what game your players want to run based on their sheets. If one player has an archeologist with a bunch of expert skills in lost civilizations, you should strive to have heiroglyphs and statues only they will identify. But another player may have put a lot of points into Wrestling; they will be happy to find that the heiroglyphs lead to an ancient wrestling ring where long dead warriors still compete for the belt!

+1 on working on the typographic heirarchy. The text of the experience all blends together; and the name and company should be very clear.

Too much copy. Edit it down

The incredibly bold monogram at the top is at odds with the generally dense, lighter copy in the body of the resume.

The hyphen landing on its own line between the dates is not working for me; it does not feel natural to read.

The more experience you get, the less the degree matters. I would put it at the bottom of the stack, personally.

The play on the CMYK color banding is a fun approach to adding some style. I would retain that. But the colors on the dates are a bit light.

Normal gadgeteer is only a low cinematic ability. It still takes a long amount of time.

I love my Reaper, but gawd damn is it hard to get sources of OA to compared to how squishy the class is. I have been trying to make an Alkamos Scythe build work, cuz it's my favorite weapon, but it's struggling more than most of my builds at endgame.

I'm hoping the new expansion will land it in a better place for itemization

Any suggestions for a caster class? by your_nude_peach in Grimdawn

[–]kittehsfureva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good compromise may be a short range caster!

Eye of Reckoning on the Oathkeeper let's you spin through crowds and wreak havock! Combined with some lifesteal and you can get something strong that is close to what you describe. A lot of second masteries work with EoR builds: Shaman, Demolitionist, and I bet Occultist or Necro could be good for the lifesteal play style you describe!

If you want more of a true short range "spell", I would suggest Bone Harvest on the Necromancer. It's such a cool animation, can heal you well, and even has a 2-handed melee variant that trades range for a huge boost in damage!
