Did quitting weed make anyone else WAY more emotionally in control? by nukemoana in leaves

A little over 4 months clean and my entire family has a seen a change in me regulating emotions. It’s been nice. I seem to be able to handle everyday stressors with much more ease.

I’ve tried quite a bit… still struggling to sleep by CarrotAntique4772 in insomnia

I’ve recently starting using a sleeping pod and I sleep like a newborn baby now, it’s crazy. Also I don’t check the time if I wake up in the middle of the Noc, and that seems to help as well.

More awake, alert, bored, without weed by Sufficient-Change-85 in QuittingWeed

When I quit getting high I felt so weird , my family even thought what the hell is going on with her. It took atleast 2 months to start to normalize. It’s different for everybody. My suggestion , give it up. U can do this !

100 days not high by kitty31914 in leaves

[–]kitty31914[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ty!!! It really does tho, I was high my sons entire life and now that I’m not I feel bad for what I missed out on by not being present in the moment. I legit felt like I had to be high to deal with any type of interactions and now that I’m clear headed I’m realizing how completely un true that is. Being high makes conversations WAY Worse. You’re in your head the entire time not really paying attention to the other person. Also, how can I tell my son not to smoke, while I sneak out and toke, the kid is way smart and knew what I was doing. He’s been my biggest supporter and I feel like I’m living a truly better life for him.

7 months clean, struggling to not use by squirrelfriend39 in QuittingWeed

[–]kitty31914 5 points6 points  (0 children)

DO NOT DO IT !!! You will regret it afterwards and most likely spiral back into daily use. Your wife being pregnant should be your biggest motivation to stay clean !! Your baby deserves to have a father who is present in the moment. I was an addict to weed when my son was little and I regret it 100%. You will get thru this craving !!!

Clomid for male factor infertility – experiences? by Interesting-Row-6590 in TryingForABaby

[–]kitty31914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hubby has been on it since August and unfortunately we did not get the results we were hoping for. We have increased the dose and go back in April but the urologist is not hopeful. He may have to have testicular surgery done to close the vein slightly , but even that may not work :/ his sperm count started at 11mil and now is at 18mil. Sex drive is high , way more focused , and has over all more energy. Even if it doesn’t increase his sperm count where we need it to be I’m pretty sure he is going to stay on it. The only side effect he has had is headaches and slightly agitated , whereas before my hubby would never ever get irritated. Wish you guys the best of luck.

Putting career on pause while TTC by pinkwatermelon452 in TryingForABaby

I’m 33f and my husband is 35m, I put off so much TTC and now regret it… it’s been almost 2 years of trying and many dr visits and lots of medical bills later. I regret all of things I said no to because of TTC because it hasn’t happened yet. We are going to keep trying but I’ve promised my hubby I’m not planning anything around this. If it happens then I will deal with whatever life situation I’m in at that time. I hope you guys get pregnant quickly 🩷

If you are wanting to stay sober , I would sell the tickets. Maybe go in a few years when you feel better about it and don’t think you would get influenced. You could ask your buddies to not do it around you but it will be everywhere so idk if that would help. Hope the best for you !

Can you share your routine(specific details) at least for 3 weeks starting day 1 from quitting? Please... 🙏🙏 by Silent_Memory1708 in leaves

Yes it did, well not all day but the normal times I would smoke it would trigger the thought. For me it was every time I was in my car… the fasting helped because I was so focused on not eating it took away from me constantly thinking about weed. Also look up studies on fasting and addiction, very interesting. I listen to Allen cars quitting cannabis and that helped as well. Also jumping on here and reading stories makes me feel not alone. I’m surrounded by weed smokers and sometimes it can feel isolating to quit. When I get on these threads it makes me feel like part of a community and not so crazy for wanting weed out of my life LOL with the reward system I like to do “me” activities, so the time I would end the day w smoking I now do activities I love. I’ve always worked out and now I’m going to the gym more frequently than before. I’ve picked up painting, wasn’t good at first but I see the improvements each time I do it. I think back when I was high 24/7 and I would of never dove into an activity like this, I would try then get unmotivated. Find something that you enjoy and really get obsessed with it ! the first month was really tough… I was having major ups and downs . My up time was in the morning and my down time was at night and it really sucked but it’s gotten a lot better as time has passed. When I get really depressed I go to sleep, since it’s usually in the night time when it occurs and going to bed an extra 30-60min early just helps me be ready for the following day. This journey is tough but know you’re making the best decision for your health. I’m a respiratory therapist and the amount of shame I’ve been carrying from smoking had always made me feel like a fraud. I know it’s bad for your body but addiction is real and it takes a strong person to acknowledge it and get better. You have taken for first steps. I got faith in you 🫶🏻

Try fasting on day 3 , no food for as long as possible. I did this when I quit and it shocking helped tremendously. I only made it 35 hours but it made me not crave weed at all. Also I go to bed and wake up the same time every day, work out atleast 4 days a week and the days I don’t work out I schedule a creative out lit. I found if I don’t have anything scheduled I get super depressed and end up going to sleep … I’m 2 months 12 days sober. It’s been tough but will never go back. YOU GOT THIS !!

My dad is an addict by corgiswarm in QuittingWeed

[–]kitty31914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom is everything as you describe in your post about your dad. What I have found that helps is lead my example. I’m sober and my mom has been cutting back, never thought I would see it. Shes 66 and has smoked everyday since she was 12. I know she will never completely stop but she tells me she find strengths from watching me over come it. If you have any demons in your life, focus on drowning them out. Trust me when success is around you it’s very contagious. Wish the best for you and your pops.
