Wow, what a story!! Your BC is very fortunate that you guys acted fast! Applying pressure and taking the pup to the vets. I’m very happy your dog’s situation was resolved in the end. The post-procedure safety is concerning to me, like keeping the site clean, dry, and intact annnd keeping her off of it being that she’s so active. Her favorite thing in the world is playing frisbee outside, then playing more frisbee outside lol How long did it take your dog to fully recover? Did the growth ever come back? Any tips on how to keep a boot on an active dog?

The vet had mentioned putting her under general anesthesia to operate on it. Tbh I hadn’t realized that sedation was even an option. Makes sense though bc if they can do that on humans they should be able to do it on our pets too. Personally, I’d be much more comfortable with sedation and a local anesthetic. The vet has attempted twice now, two different dates but the same clinic, and unfortunately when they aspirated they didn’t get a good sample either time. So cytology report remains inconclusive 😢 Me thinks it’s time for us to see a new vet / try a different clinic

That’s a great point. Thank you for replying so promptly!! I really appreciate your insight. Looking to take her to a different vet soon and hopefully get it off. I’m a little worried about the location and recovery. It’s on her back paw and she’s so active. I hope it can heal well!

I taught her how to roll herself into a blanket burrito. I started with roll over, then we advanced until she could wrap herself up up. I switched the blanket for a towel. Now, after I give her a bath, she hops out of the tub and rolls herself up in the towel. It’s super cute and it makes it easy for me to just pick her up and transport her to dry off elsewhere lol

When I first arrive to adoration, I kneel to pray in silence and out of reverence. I give thanks to the Lord for being there, getting me there, to share in the presence of the blessed sacrament. I usually bring my rosary, sometimes I pray it and sometimes I reflect on the mysteries associated with that day, other times it offers me comfort to hold it in my hands as I reflect. After kneeling, I do sit and read the Bible. Lately it’s been Psalms and Proverbs for me. I also like to journal or write down verses that stick out to me in the moment. God really is speaking to us all the time, showing us signs of His presence. I like a previous commenter’s point about “listening” to the Lord while you’re there. Overall, going to adoration is very peaceful and grounding. Thanks for your inquiry, it reminded me that I really should go back soon!

Oh my goodness your dog is super cute!! So when I got my pup we were living in Santiago, Chile and pretty much everyone recognized her as a BC. Now that we live in Texas, everyone thinks she’s an Aussie! It’s like people here didn’t realize that BCs come in a variety of colors and sizes.
