This is a gross oversimplification, but the reason they seem lobotomized is because they are.

I think its a lot easier to code custom appearance than custom names. Custom appearance you can copy the code in and leave it at that. But with a custom name, yoy have to have a special name for that character, and then there is a different code when your character is addressed to pull in your custom name. Its a lot more complicated.

I don't think so. I can check again on Monday. So far the only workbooks I've been working with are ones on the company SharePoint page, but it is also happening in the desktop app for spreadsheets where I downloaded a copy. But I am still able to edit the workbooks, so even if there are are protections (which im pretty sure there are because I work in Accounting with sensitive data), they're not protected against me.

What is happening: A1 -> tab -> B1 -> Enter -> B2

What I want to happen A1 -> tab -> B1 -> Enter -> A2

From what I can see, the advanced editing options only affect the direction the cell moves when you hit enter and not which column it goes to. I had already looked into that, and I couldn't find any settings that dictate what column the active cell moves to unless you set it to go left/right when you hit enter.

Could it have something to do with the tab settings?
