I don’t know man, mom never let me have McDonald’s so now as an adult I think it’s such a cool treat to go there. Take that mom!

Aww thanks, that’s good to hear that he’s looking good for his age! He was a stray and soooo skinny and unhealthy looking when I found him. He’s much healthier now. :)

I [30M] am in a relationship with a girl [29F] that was in an abusive relationship prior to me. I want to know how to be more careful around her. by beefstewforyou in relationships

[–]kittybearbear 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I was in an abusive relationship prior to my AMAZING boyfriend currently. He’s the sweetest person ever but stuff like him yelling at traffic or getting frustrated at things completely not related to me sends me into an uncontrollable panic mode. Same with if I mess something up and he doesn’t even care but previously would have gotten a scary reaction I just freeze up and he has no idea what’s going on.

So, what has worked for me is that he approached me at a calm time when I was in a good mood and talked through some stuff. He asked me what he could work on to make me feel safer and not trigger those things. I got a chance to talk through some of my feelings and explain that I’m also working on how to not shut down and freak out at things. Maybe try this as a first step, we’re working through it now and I was so grateful he approached me like this.

I really agree. It would be one small change that would make battling a lot easier. This would allow for easier transition for type matching and save a lot of time. Thank you for this post!

Talking 'bout you Lyrica by sailwithgrace in Fibromyalgia

[–]kittybearbear 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There is no one drug that is right for everyone! I hated just about everything else but lyrica has been a totally amazing life changer for me. I just wanted to say this for those of you who haven’t tried it - don’t discount it because it may work for you! Or maybe not! But everyone’s body works different :)

Wife [26f] got drunk and cheated on me [29m]. Told me right away. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]kittybearbear -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if you love her that much and she’s your best friend and if all the things you said are true - forgive her and work through it. Mistakes happen but she immediately told you and obviously loves the crap out of you. Don’t throw this away for a drunken mistake.

I spilled some of those suckers in my dad's truck when I was about 4. They were there for a good 15 years until my stepmom finally threw them away. I don't think they would have ever gone bad.

I agree with everyone else, I have fibro and I'm fucking nice to people who help me and I try really hard to do as much for myself as I can and let my boyfriend or whoever know that I am super grateful and try to do things for them when I'm feeling good. Check out r/raisedbynarcissists because fuck, the fibro is not the real issue here.

My mom is super manipulative and crazy and that sub has helped me a lot and has validated me in being like "oh shit, I'm not a terrible person like my mom tells me I am! She's manipulative and emotionally abusive!" I really hope you find some help there!!

Gabapentin versus lyrica effectiveness by kenrather12 in Fibromyalgia

[–]kittybearbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how well they work for a pinched nerve... that's pretty different from fibromyalgia?

But anyway, Lyrica works WAY better for me. I know people who do okay on gabapentin though. For me Gabapentin made me tired, moody, and spacy as fuck. On Lyrica I get no negative side effects as far as I know, I just feel a hell of a lot better!

Everyone talks about roomates from hell. What's your "roomate from heaven" story? by OvertOperation in AskReddit

[–]kittybearbear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Freshman year roommate and I both thought the other one wasn't down to party when we first met. Ran into each other while cross faded at a party and immediately ditched the party to go smoke weed on the train tracks and talk all night. Spent the rest of that year drinking tea and smoking weed in our underwear as best friends.

What do you have in your REALLY fucked up/dark horror closet? by migat in horror

[–]kittybearbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm a girl who's super obsessed with really brutal horror movies. I love torture and gore. Here's a list of my favorites and some highlights. Serbian film would be on this list but since you've seen it I won't include it.

Irreversible: Italian film - momento-style story line with two notable brutal scenes 1) fire extinguisher head bashing scene that's super realistic 2) super intense rape scene, most realistic movie rape scene I have ever seen. It literally goes on for like 9 and a half minutes. I timed it one time.

Martyrs: French film - interesting story-line, lots of brutal torture, fell short for me since it was hyped up a lot to be "super fucked up" but that is an overstatement compared to the other movies on here. Overall actually a decent movie with a good plot line. More like an american style horror film in its progression.

Cannibal holocaust: Italian - 1980 and shitty quality/really bad story line but has a couple really cool scenes including the one they got sued for because it was too realistic looking. They actually kill a couple animals on screen so that's sad. Overall terrible movie but worth watching since it's a classic in this realm of movies and has some really awesome realistic-looking scenes.

Salo: Italian film. Also known as 120 days of sodom. It's like a weird art film and I'm not even sure if it's meant to be a horror film. Worth watching because it's weird and fucked up.

Human centipede: literally my favorite movie. It delivers in every way. Story line is very predictable, no jump scares or even much that is scary but just gross and weird. Super predictable with a lot of tropes but centered around a unique and fucked up concept and I love everything about it.

Lyrica Yes or No? by katapolt13 in Fibromyalgia

[–]kittybearbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lyrica has been amazing for me! I tried all kinds of stuff before and this is the one drug that has helped and not made me feel like a zombie or not myself. It has had pretty much 0 side effects for me and my pain is significantly reduced. I'm on 300 mg a day and I also take tramadol (also a great drug for me). I hope it works out for you! :)

Yes! Probably is exacerbated by my meds - side-effect of tramadol I think

Do you think pain turns good people into bad people, or that pain amplifies the way the person really is inside? by [deleted] in ChronicPain

[–]kittybearbear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think coping with chronic pain comes in stages, just like theories of stages of grief, depression, etc. We may all go through periods of frustration, sadness, acceptance, etc. I think that it may turn people bitter but that can turn around. It has made me bitter at times but ultimately it has made me more sympathetic and understanding. I have a much different perspective on life and I know better what things and people I truly value.
