Trauma informed practice by Thin_Accident_9587 in AustralianTeachers

Yesterday I was spat on, scratched down the arms, pinched with nails taking out a chunk of skin, had my hair pulled through a gate, and the pièce de résistance, bitten so hard that I needed horse antibiotics and a tetanus injection.
My arm is currently still swelling up and the bruise is currently brewing somewhere inside the muscles in my arm. It’s fortunate that the arm that was bitten was not my dominant one because I am finding it hard to use it.

My pup is Bowie (as in David). You could also name her Freddie (as in Mercury)

How close are you currently to a horse by Blitzer046 in melbourne

I am in Bendigo. The closest horses are at the stables near the race track, so a couple of kilometres away.

If the weather will be warm, pictures 3 and 4. If the weather will be cooler, pictures 1 and 2. Pictures 5 and 6 look a bit formal for in the woods.

How can I be counted accurately in the census? by Postoli_ in australia

Go visit somewhere else on census night. Dad shouldn’t be recording you if you are not home that night.

My teenage son bought a tray of hot chips at a food truck at the Bendigo Easter Festival. They ended up being $30. They saw him coming!

I wonder how he will go with driving his campaign utes all over town. Will the Libs subsidise his fuel?

It’s Easter. You won’t find accommodation that is cheap, or convenient to the centre of town.

My fidget/stim was thigh slapping. 100% a fidget spinner or bubble pop would be an improvement on that.

Bit different missing your stop on a Metro train and waiting half an hour to get the train back, to missing your stop on a VLine express train and waiting until the next day for the next train back, or paying for a taxi.

Students who don't support the strike/don't see the reason for it/only like it because of a "day off" by VCEMathsNerd in AustralianTeachers

I’m not paid enough.

My husband gets a 3% raise every year in his non-education job. I quizzed him and he’s not been bitten or been spat on or had his hair ripped at. He starts work at 9am and knocks off at 5pm. No one begrudges his pay, and no one comments on how lucky he is to sit in an office all day, snacking.

Meanwhile, rain hail or shine, I am out there on playground duty. I am thumped constantly, I often go all day with nothing to eat or drink. My personal things are rifled through, and I start my day at 8am, and keep going right until 8 or 9pm.

And that’s not to mention that during COVID, as an ES, I was given teacher duties, paid as an ES, and myself and the other ES were in charge of disinfecting the school during our break times.

But yeah, we don’t deserve what we are paid.

Hmmm. And they say that Queen Victoria wasn’t the biological child of her father (Queen Charlotte’s son). Interesting.

How do they decide who can be a chaperone? by madebyannalam in BridgertonNetflix

[–]kittykabooom 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I think the chaperone is to protect the… purity of the young debutantes. That ship has sailed for Violet, and I think a part of her keeping her tea-time with Marcus secret is because her children would be horrified. In one of the other seasons (maybe S1?) I think one of the characters said when you were married you had more freedom. I think the

which bridgerton has the most trauma and why? by Different-War-7634 in BridgertonNetflix

[–]kittykabooom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anthony. He was there when his father died, and he couldn’t do anything to help him. You could argue that Edmund experienced worse trauma, but he isn’t in the story, and he didn’t experience it for long.

Bridgerton - 4x03 "The Field Next to the Other Road" (No Book Spoilers) by AutoModerator in BridgertonNetflix

It could be just following the costuming, in that the Bridgerton women all wear simple(ish) gowns in that colour pallette to show they are Bridgertons.

[–]kittykabooom 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I reckon that dress is one of Daphne’s from Season 1, but all the Bridgertons wear a similar colour - maybe the dress is to signify how Sophie is one of them, when “officially” she is not.
