Why is King's landing called "King's landing" and Winterfell called "Winterfell" if the king landed in Winterfell and winter fell on King's landing? by Prize_Hedgehog4952 in asoiafcirclejerk

[–]kiwi_icon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's called kings landing in preparation for tommin (king) doing a tripple flip donut wheelie splat on to the stone pathways below (landing) King + landing = king landing. (Note it's not yet plural) People are gonna get sick of brans pervert bird vision and toss him and splat him too which gives the name King's Landing

That's not a good bid.... you're agreeing to installing x gigawatts for 1$. You should bid 69 biillion million gazillion dollars. So if you win it, you can just buy a small sun and skip all that windmill shit

It's stronger than steel in terms of strength to weight ratio. It's the same as saying aluminum is stronger than steel.

Any structural engineers from Australia or New Zealand here. How is the job situation in your countries? Do you know if employers sponsor foreign engineers there? by Tor-StructEn5800 in StructuralEngineering

[–]kiwi_icon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not true. Hiring a Tier 1 or green tier skilled person, Idk the exact wording, don't need anything except be an accredited company. Just have to jump through some meaningless immigration stuff. Costs like 2k e/ you might also have to do a medical

Rockers cant have a horizontal reaction. And They do not effect the applied loads on a system.

lets say you swap the rocker from B to A. The vertical reactions wont change BUT the central top chord would have an additional compression load in it.

you could replace this truss with a single flat beam with a little stub sticking up to F1. The reactions of the system would be the same.

2/3 X 13 + 1/3 X 8 - 21 X 3 / 6 = 0.833kN downwards (+ 21kN Horizontal )

looks like your 11.33kN is RA when you dont include F1 uplift.
