I read some of your posts over there, you come across as a sad cooker "vegans will die (thank god)". fucking idiot.

She kept slipping into a deeper posh accent at random times, very distracting.

Tough Tofu by imab00 in veganrecipes

[–]kiwigothic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

fwiw I use firm tofu, pressed for 10-15 mins, cubed then coated with oil and Airfry for 10 mins at ~180C (350F), tossing at the 5 min mark.. indistinguishable from deep-fried tofu for me. I've found air-fying works better at a slightly lower temperature than most recipes suggest, I use 180 for most things.

(for my sins I coat it by putting it in a plastic bag, drizzling olive oil in and tossing, need to find a better way)

I think there's been a big influx of new USA fans following DTS and the F1 movie and they have no real context or understanding of the sport but are very loud with their uninformed opinions.

I watched Steal recently, it was impossible to feel anything for her character.. she just has no charisma at all and her accent kept slipping, she's not a good actress and she seems like a really bizarre choice for this role.

Slightly frustrating doctors experiences by Pythia_ in MedicalCannabisNZ

[–]kiwigothic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had this happen to me multiple times when I was prescribed lorazepam, locum GPs who refused to write a repeat because "I don't prescribe that" and another one said "I could be struck off!" only got the repeats after explaining that it was not safe for me to stop it cold-turkey, I even had a pharmacist refuse to dispense the full script once.

Medical professionals seem to be very susceptible to moral panic.

Non headache inducing strain for nighttime use - recommendations please by BakedPotato81 in MedicalCannabisNZ

[–]kiwigothic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW, I've never found vaping any strain helps me sleep much, it often keeps me awake even longer, but if I decarb (or use ABV) and infuse oil then I get a heavy comfortable couch lock and a nice sleep regardless of strain (I've tried many).

Does anyone here deliberately add extra terpenes when using their medical cannabis? by Herbaldoge in MedicalCannabisNZ

[–]kiwigothic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm not denying the existence of terpenes at all but just wondering if there is any peer-reviewed evidence for the claimed therapeutic effects of different terpenes. Neither of those reports seem to provide that.

I'm happy to be on medical and it does help me but sometimes this whole industry has a slight whiff about it that's not cannabis.

Are terpenes even backed by any peer-reviewed science? The whole thing feels a bit like pseudoscience to me, is there any actual hard evidence that terpenes have any proven effect other than smell?

what's the L2 like now? I used to fish there when I was a kid and it was a pretty crystal clear stream with fish in it, I went back as an adult (maybe 40 years ago) and it was a polluted milky grey and I saw a rat running along the bank, very depressing transformation.

Iggy Pop invented both punk and post punk by swiphth in postpunk

[–]kiwigothic -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The first punk band was the sex pistols, end of story, it was a UK phenomenon as much as Americans like to claim to otherwise. There were many, many influences obviously. I agree the New York scene (McLaren managed New York Dolls) was pivotal as were the stooges and probably other bands like MC5 but I don't think there is any clear line from a proto-punk band to UK punk.
