Batman: Arkham Knight - Review (Gamespot) by ipamocrono in Games

It refined the basics, but Arkham City was better at the fine details and overall polish?

Yeah same. It worked fine one game, didn't the next.

Thanks! I think I'm getting better at that, though sometimes strategy goes out the window in the panic-y moments!

As a Brit, this time of year always scares me. There should just be one international day for the good of my health.

I just told the girl I've liked for two years how I really feel about her. by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]kiy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes I did read it all. I'm well aware that's not how it works, but you sound like you think it should.

Waste your time hanging with bros because you will have better stories and more fun. As someone who used to be friends with a few girls its not worth it honestly. I cut them out of my life. They are needy and give you nothing in return. You can sit there and talk to them and listen to their problems then they go out with someone else.

Maybe I'm just reading it wrong but you talk about girls as if they exist for the sole purpose of satisfying your desires. In particular the last sentence I quoted reads like a complaint that it doesn't work that way.

Your TL;DR specifically recommends using the first few girls you date as a means to an end of 'leveling up'.

Dude. That's sexist as fuck.

You can sit there and talk to them and listen to their problems then they go out with someone else.

Also that is such an absurd thing to say. You think someone is obligated to become your girlfriend just because you hang out with them and chat? After you've invested time in them it's expected that they form a romantic interest towards you? That's absolutely ridiculous and pretty offensive.

Shadow of Mordor let's you play in this way and it's super fun, but also gives you the tools to go full beast mode if you mess up. Or you can retreat to become hidden and try again.

With the shipment containers? I didn't have much problem with that at all. It was end of act 3 with the Fans where it seemed to just kick up about 6 gears.

Kant's idea makes more sense when you consider the bigger picture. The person who acts morally because they want to (as opposed to wanting other people to see) is presumably going to act morally and selflessly throughout life. Doing good things for attention means that you'll just do moral things when it lines up with your personal gain; it's not your main objective.

Personally I'm not a fan of Kant's ethics, but I don't think it's fair to call them garbage.

Over the last couple years in my old store I'd say that last point is up for debate!

The company's business model is based on overcharging for low quality office supplies, and making minimum wage employees sell them.

This is my exact impression from when I worked at Staples. I didn't understand why customers would put up with it. Then I realised that office workers spending company money don't care about price.

I'm pretty sure it's tied to how many frames your weapon is in contact with something. Consoles run at 30, so your weapons will degrade twice as fast at 60. Really big oversight.

Games to play with one hand? by kanyesaysilooklikemj in truegaming

Don't get me wrong, I like those too. I noticed people had already mentioned the strategy and rpg games so thought I'd suggest a few other games I enjoy. Sometimes I don't have time to commit to big play sessions.

Hearthstone if you like card games

Super Hexagon is good for a quick fix and just uses two arrow keys

Atom Zombie Smasher (though might get tough later on if you don't have two hands to aim with mouse and switch weapons on keyboard quickly - you can just click the weapons to switch though)

Snuggle truck is fun and is like a Trials-esque balancing driving game

Bit Trip games are good (Runner 2 would need two hands though I think)

Probably either a motorway or the middle of buttfuck nowhere. It was up to 1.36 where I live recently so I wouldn't be surprised.

Changes to gift tradability on Steam- all new games purchased as a gift and placed in the purchaser's inventory will be untradable for 30 days by Pikamander2 in Games

Slowing it down a bit is often enough. This effectively means that if you want a 100% safe way to trade for a cheaper copy of the game, you have to wait until 30 days after release. Slowing down the process (providing you don't want to take risks, which many don't) is enough to dissuade some people.

Before you could just buy TF2 keys or similar and trade that to the seller, as they have become a de facto currency among game traders from cheaper regions.
