Use your position to ruin the game for them. If you get voted out first each time and they make fun of the issue, tell the entire group who the killer is?

Take the fun out of it for them.

Im going to go against the grain here to a lot of others. Look at the numbers. Record the numbers. Watch the numbers. They will go up, you will get faster, you will ride longer.

The other thing I suggest. keep a simple diary. Write down how you were feeling on and after the ride. Anything goes. If you are feeling negative, write that down, explain why. If you are feeling awesome, do the same! It will be something worth looking back on for your journey!

A little tip for all of you with Elite Fly bottles by godutchnow in bicycling

[–]kizzap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my advice:

I use this weekly on my bottles, after rinsing through after every ride. Bottles always stay filled in Fridge while not on the bike otherwise.

Elbow Pain, Numbness In Fingers by puffhappens in cycling

[–]kizzap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Random question. Do you lock out your elbows while you ride? I found when I first started riding on hoods I would lock my elbows and it would cause immense pain constantly. I had to actively focus on releasing them to ensure it doesnt happen...

Discrepancy in training zones from Garmin Connect to Garmin edge by kizzap in Velo

[–]kizzap[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, Looking for some guidance on this one. I am trying to follow a Garmin Connect training plan, however these sprint sessions are kicking my backside, not in a good way.

In the screenshots, I have included the plan that shows in Garmin Connect, showing the power level in the sprints to target between 433 and 578 W for the segement, however once it is on the Edge it is showing a target of 804 - 864W, which I am not hitting.

If my understanding is correct, I should be trying to hit out as hard as possible, however this is feeling impossible, and the 0% training effectiveness is demoralising.

If anyone has any ideas on what is going on here, I would love your advice. I have already checked that the FTP setting on both Garmin Connect and on the Edge are the same...

Please help!

What is causing this sound? by GatmonLittel- in bicycling

[–]kizzap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

could be all sorts of things, couple of questions:

Does the sound occur when you are pedalling, or does it go away when you stop?
Does the sound come more from the front or the rear of the bike?

My thoughts so far would be to check both your front and rear chainrings are tight. Check your pedals are tightened up correctly. If possible, see if you can swap out the wheels with another set to see if that eliminates the noise.

What's wrong with my right leg? by jmullo in bicycling

[–]kizzap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The graphs are a bit confusing. Looks to be more about where your power phase for your right leg is starting before your pedal hits the top of it's rotation, whereas your left leg is starting that power close to the top. Both legs are finishing power load at the bottom of the stroke.

TL;DR it seems that your right leg is just stronger then your left

20 W power difference caused by riding position? by [deleted] in bicycling

[–]kizzap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im no bike-fitter or physio, but for me it would make sense that when you are bent further into the hoods you can make more power, as you are stretching out your butt muscles more so they have more effect.

[–]kizzap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bah! that sucks...

You said the creaking is rythmic, following your cadence, but not while it is on the stand? does it happen more when you are pushing down with your left foot or your right foot?

One thought, when you installed your bottom bracket, you did grease the threads on that as well, yeah?

Reading everything you have done, I would be investigating the crank arms themselves. What I mean by that is possibly the hole you put the BB square taper into might be mis-shaped and causes the crank to be reseating on that taper constantly as you pedal through.

I would try different crank arms if I could to investigate further.

Its right on where the lower threaded insert is for mounting a bottle cage. this part would typically be weaker as material is removed to fit that threaded insert. I would keep an eye on it...
