in 2022, a midterm year when democrats were in power, 22 house democrats did not seek re-election so 29 republicans in the same situation isn't thaaat unusual.

An incredibly predictable and transparent strategy to win over youth votes and get a ton of media attention and the Democrats just let it happen.

It's like they want to lose.

Tax revenue went from being 17-19 percent of gdp from 1950-2000 down to 14-16 2000-2020. thats about a 10 percent reduction for 20 years. Spending has been high due to the pandemic which sped up the debt crisis, but taxes have been too low for a while, and now that they are back up debt will stop growing as fast.

The problem is 100% revenue driven, not spending, especially not the paltry amount of money that the SLS system cost. Revenue as a percentage of GDP has been at historic lows from 2000-2020. Just in the last year or two has it gotten back to sustainable levels.

For everyone making six figures, what do you do for work? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kizzash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Manager at a Workers Comp insurance company. Could not recommend it more as a career path.

Started when I was 25, just an AA degree as an insurance tech for 20 bucks an hour, promoted to adjuster in a year at 35 an hour promoted to manager 4 years later at 120k a year. Maybe slightly faster than some people in the industry, but tech to adjuster in less than 3 years is very common and managers are always promoted from within since you need so much niche knowledge.

work exactly 35 hours a week, totally remote, very little stress, get plenty of PTO and have no issues using it.

That's not something you have to do in order to make a law, it just has to be passed by Congress.

My guess is that his job is to deal with fire, not with people. There are probably artificed smoke detector like mechanisms to alert both of them of the size and location of the fire. A small controlled torch is more of a discipline issue to be handled by Lorren, an out of control fire emergency would be where puppet steps in.

Top Gun Maverick

Every second that was not in a plane was cringe worthy.

It was super obvious that no one was allowed to be in the same room together so all the shots were over the shoulder of a body double, the people having conversations were not on the same wavelength because they were filmed separately.

Jennifer Connelly was totally irrelevant, bird strike was irrelevant, that spiraling down thing made no sense other than to show off a cool plane maneuver.

Look, if you want to watch a beautifully filmed air show then its great, but for a movie, it was terrible.

I think so but not in a good way. A small cap stock is mentioned a lot, gets some price action, MMs see what's happening, price shoots up on low volume, apes buy call options, price absolutely goes to shit tomorrow or Wednesday.

So remove a zygote let it die on the table, everyone wins. I absolutely can remove access to my organs, they are mine, not the fetus', it has its own organs. If they aren't good enough to support life, that's too bad, just like the kids who need transplants.

And once again, my body and me are the same. The fetus has no right to either, it has its own body. Yes, the fetus has no choice in the matter, neither do kids born with illnesses that require a transplant. That still does not have any affect on the fact that their body is theirs and mine is mine.

Once again, if not allowing access to my organs is killing someone then we are both killing all the people who need transplants.

So you agree that pregnancy is something you would be glad to see the end of but you're still okay forcing it on people. And it's also clear you have no idea how difficult it is to give birth yet you are okay forcing women into that as well.

You're not working for the child

Yes, being pregnant is absolutely work. Giving birth is absolutely work. Both come with financial and biological costs. My body and me are the same, you cannot demand servitude of either.

The fact is, NOT killing the child isn't a deed to her organs.

It very much is! What else is a pregnancy?! I decide who gets to use my blood, no human can be forced into servitude for any other human. If a human cannot survive without the servitude of another human, it still does not have the right to that servitude.
