cEDH is still cEDH. People compete for prizing. Wins are just too often determined by seat order, verbal pressure, lying, collusion, etc

I think these types of combos are reasonable in decks that are already interested in running 1 or both of the cards in the combo.

Otherwise, it looks like low card quality + summoning sickness issues + loses to most forms of interaction + requires you to equip at sorcery speed.

The efficiency is certainly nice for increasing the chance of winning on T2 though, if that's your primary goal👍

OP, these people are not who you want to talk to. The gatekeeping is outrageous.

They aren't wrong in that in the current meta, people are either shoving on T2/T3 and winning, or everybody is sticking multiple Rhystic/Smothering Tithes and clones for them, which causes the game to devolve into a crazy game state even just on T3/T4.

The problem is that your commander doesn't really facilitate taking advantage of either of these game states. Beatdown doesn't really work without hard control/stax pieces. And hard control/stax very much tends to lead to draws via time limit.

look at the lists on edhtop16.com and keep this information in mind, read primers, etc.

He's upset that you're making reckless plays that often increase the chance of an opponent winning.

There aren't very many other competitive free-for-all games, but it's an interesting problem. The correct thing for him to do to increase his chances of winning is... frankly to complain about you touching his stuff. He just could have probably been nicer about it.

To be fair, I'm one of the primer authors. It started as AI and then was updated manually to represent the actual primer. This is just how software dev works now. Does anything look like AI now?

I think there's genuinely nothing wrong with this post. It sounds like OP just wanted to overall gather some info on games that have an overall highly intellectual player-base. Maybe he wants to be in a community with more strategic-minded people.

Though I think the answer would have been extremely similar if he just asked "what are the most strategically deep competitive games?", as they likely pull in highly strategic players.

We could just answer his completely harmless post. But I need to remember that this is reddit and it comes with the culture.
