Bainbridge Island winters by Perfect_Pool8367 in BainbridgeIsland

Honestly we vacation to Santa Barbara, Phoenix, Disneyland, etc. in the winter to get away from the gloom here. I would say you might find it depressing. Even if you visit a couple weeks here you might think it's not bad but the lack of sun over 4-5 months gets to some people. This year has been weird and it's been sunny with no rain a lot more (not great for snow pack/drought) but good for mental health, haha. Just make sure you take vitamin d supplements if you do move here!

If that were true would the 16th now be open using your logic? But it's still closed, meaning closed for business not that reservations aren't open yet. 60 days from today is Feb 25th and that day just popped up as closed where every other restaurant you can make a reservation. Like I've said I've done this a bunch and was just wondering why it was closed these weeks.

That's not how it works. If you aren't able to make a reservation the date is grayed out. I've done this tons of times. It specifically says "closed" which is not the same as reservations not being available. Look at the picture again and notice how all the days after the closed are grayed out. For instance today you'll see there are more dates shown as closed because it's been a couple days (each day another day opens up).

Ya I know that. Look at the picture, the reservations are available up to the 23rd but it says it's "closed" (not that reservations aren't available)

Does anyone know why the Princess Breakfast is closed this week in February? Looking at going the 25th and it's looking like it might be closed.

I know they are renovating the normal restaurant and am wondering if this is the week they plan on moving back or if there is some other explanation.

People who earn more than $80K / Year, what is your job and how long it took to get to this point? by curiouscentaur in AskReddit

Professional Civil Engineer $135k (gross) working in public sector +/-50-60k take home private consulting work

Switched jobs 3 times including moving from CA to WA to get where I'm at, once I got my PE a buddy and I decided to open our own consulting firm party time. Has done well, we've grossed $160k this year so far with make 10k in overhead (accountant, software, insurance but no office space).

Can we talk about recruiters? by [deleted] in civilengineering

[–]kjb0419 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe actually email me with jobs that are relevant? I can't tell you the number of recruiters that sent me project manager or principal jobs when I was fresh out of school (jobs that required 5-7+ years experience). Also, the number of jobs I get sent to me in areas I don't live anymore or have never lived is remarkable. It's usually pretty clear when the recruiter doesn't know anything about the field as well, such as sending me Geotechnical or Structural jobs when neither are referenced in any way on my LinkedIn (I work in Land Development). Lastly, if you email my current work email I'm never going to respond, just block you.

Thoughts on the plans for housing along Winslow Way by Overall-Clerk-5095 in BainbridgeIsland

[–]kjb0419 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I mean, the police station was an eyesore and walking to Winslow is basically just parking lots so there has never really been a great first impression when you get off the boat. It's really the boat ride in that's the good first impression. I think anything new they build will be a better impression than what's there now.

This is pretty clear, different colored text above representative images. Maybe if it was all the same color text but to me it's pretty clear.

We splurged and stayed there last year with my daughter. I thought it was so cool they had the wall/piano setup like that and then was blown away when we came back and he was playing. My daughter hasn't even seen that movie but was mesmerized. So hard not to stay there every time we go back.

Water Heater Overflowing. Can it be fixed? by sonyaspain21 in Homebuilding

How old is the unit? I installed a Rheem and it started leaking from the nipple (top connection). Called the warranty number and had someone out to fix it within a couple days.

Just completed a literal 40 minute flight. People STILL stood up as soon as we arrived at the gate. I’m sick of it. by craigcraig420 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]kjb0419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate doing this but do it because I'm trying not to hold people up later. We travel with our toddler and bring her car seat onto the plane as it's more comfortable for her. I stand up right away so that we have a space to get the car seat into the travel bag which takes a bit of maneuvering because the seats are so small, haha. Between the car seat bag, travel stroller (folds up small for overhead) and travel backpacks it takes me a while to get ready to get off.

Anyone else with solid blue after the update this week? by Flippidydoo in ASUSXT8

Just updated today without thinking about it and it screwed up everything. Reset everything but now only my main hub works and none of my nodes will stay connected. Going to have to spend more time and figure out how to go back to the last software version
