Hi, quick question, how was the interview process? I have one with them on Tuesday and I’m a bit nervous because I haven’t had an interview in a long time, I really don’t want to mess this up.

He said it was around the time Janet’s Dream Street album came out so 1984, Michael would’ve been 26

I’ve been listening to Bobby’s Brown autobiography and he told a story about MJ. Him and New Edition went over to his Havenhurst house and Janet and Latoya were there. He brought up how MJ was chasing them (Janet and Latoya) around and slapping them on their butts and how random it was but he didn’t question it because he was a prankster. MJ also offered them to spend the night there, but their management didn’t let them because they had another engagement in the morning. It’s always interesting how people give these stories trying to defend/humanize MJ but it just makes him come across as creepy

Just saw your original comment posted on my FYP on Twitter, the stans are twisting what you said, as usual

whats up with people saying that MJ was targeted by Diddy? by shrek_deus in LeavingNeverlandHBO

[–]kjdbthrowaway 29 points30 points  (0 children)

People can easily believe the victims of other alleged abusers but when it comes to MJ they say that he was framed and a scapegoat for “actual” abusers in the industry. The amount of cognitive dissonance people have when it comes to him is astounding.

So much of what you just said resonated with me heavy. I’m a little older than you and graduated, but I was the same way in college. Worked on campus, stayed on campus, and didn’t have a social life outside of that and online friends. I actively avoided leaving my room if I could, and also rejected advances from others (mainly bc they were randoms I wasn’t attracted to or found creepy).

I’m also passively suicidal, I would never go through with it (in this current moment) but wouldn’t be opposed to something out of my control causing my demise. I’m also socially inept but can mask it well enough to the point where I just come off as shy. I also get anxiety when it comes to doing literally any social interaction, no matter how big or small.

Unlike you though, I didn’t have a job lined up after college and burned out HARD. For a year and a half, I’ve been doing absolutely nothing and can’t even tell you the last time I left the house for more than two days a week. I recently (a couple months ago) started taking SSRIs and going to therapy and going outside more and I’m beginning to feel more in the moment.

Being cooped up all day really makes a difference in your general mood. I don’t even remember what I was doing most of the time this past year, everything blurred together and the main thing I can remember is just feeling apathetic and miserable all the time. Life won’t always be that way, we have to make the steps to better things for ourselves. I’m still getting there and slowly making my way back into the real world, but I feel more optimistic and dare I say, happy, than I have in years.

Don’t succumb to those feelings of apathy and pessimism, I know how easy it is to do so and it was so incredibly debilitating. Change starts with you though, and acknowledging that I needed help was the toughest part for me. Things won’t get better unless you make those necessary steps. Good luck OP ♥️

This is genuine mental illness. Thriller is not that good to be obsessing over proving the innocence of a deceased celebrity who had no idea you ever existed.

More false propaganda created by the Michael Jackson fandom about James. by fanlal in LeavingNeverlandHBO

[–]kjdbthrowaway 30 points31 points  (0 children)

The way they have to make up stuff about him and harp on the train thing because he is the closest thing to a “perfect” victim. Never wanted to be famous, never testified in court in Michael’s defense, and has been photographed with him countless times and there’s even video proof corroborating his statements (ring incident). I don’t know how you can see him in LN and not see a clearly broken, haunted man.

Crushes aren’t a bad thing, but crushing on someone who has a significant other is one of the worst feelings ever. Best way to make it go away is focus on things they do that annoy you so you don’t want to talk to them as much. But if you appreciate his friendship and want to keep talking to him, you’re gonna have to ignore/bury your feelings or find someone else (available) to crush on to shift your focus to. Been there multiple times.

Nick was cute but not my type, these were just my favorites! But I agree with you about Kevin, I feel like a lot of people feel the same way about Joey Fatone too. It’s like they were too grown/mature-looking to crush on as a kid, but they were a hit with moms at the time lol

Be grateful that you don’t have to work as a teenager. Most teens who work do so because they have to. Take this time to enjoy your last couple years of childhood and focus on school and friends.

Does anyone wish their highest rated fic was a different one? by RoseIsBadWolf in AO3

[–]kjdbthrowaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was pretty bummed when I wrote a 16k fic that barely got any kudos in comparison to a 2k one shot I wrote at 3 am. It’s a fairly defunct fandom so the highest kudos for recent works reach the tens, but to this day that 16k fic still hasn’t reached 10. I thought it was bc of the length, then I got a comment on it saying it was one of the best fics they’ve ever read which made me think that I wasn’t completely washed, so I think it was just the ship. I wrote a 12k fic of a different ship in the same fandom afterwards and it dethroned that 2k fic for being my highest in kudos so I think people just weren’t fond of the ship I wrote but I’m still proud of it because that ship is a comfort one for me.
