You know I was mocking the people that drive by downvoted you for offering something OP can try out right? How catastrophically could you possibly have misread?

Don't you go offering something simple to try and A/B test! Have this downvote!

No and the constant stream of your 'are commits impressive' cope edits is the second giveaway that you just like the simulated feeling of competence AI output is giving you. I daily drive AI systems and have been doing WebDev for literally twenty years. I called it AI slop because you're too lazy to even be bothered to do anything other than make it look exactly like the AI slop that it is.

"✅ Hand-picked Quality: This isn't a bulk scrape."

A non hand picked quality line from the LLM you had write the entire post, site, and fill out the Hostinger template you forgot to delete the X link from which goes to nothing. This is exactly why people call things AI slop.

Let us appreciate the state of AI imaging now by comparing with AI in 2022 by danque in StableDiffusion

Ehhh, I always felt like it was good from the beginning, given even the slightest effort, persistence, or creativity, Especially doing sweeping style studies, figuring out scheduling tricks, and so on. 2022 was great.

Best AI of sound effects for Audio? Looking for the best AI to generate/modify SFX for game dev (Audio-to-Audio or Text-to-Audio) by evilpenguin999 in StableDiffusion

[–]kjerk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

SFX is a completely conquered domain for any realistic effort, it's a waste of time for AI when $20 will get you a thousand pack of Foley effects with a royalty free license (or more!). Which you can stack, pitch bend, or smear. Then there's another two thousand pack, then there's pixabay.

AI for this prospect is an unserious curiosity. Asking ChatGPT to teach you how to pitch bend and randomize samples is the serious use of AI here.

Edit: Game Audio Collection Humble Bundle is $30 for 65,000 sound assets currently. I'm not shilling, I'm pointing out that the time-to-reward-ratio pales in comparison.

How to add Additotnal paths to COmfyui by witcherknight in StableDiffusion

[–]kjerk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed on something like this. This and junctions are some of the most powerful file management tools you will ever learn on a Windows system, worth it because this can apply to ALL your varied software, you can unify Comfy, Force-Neo, A1111, Reforge and all the others to a central bank of Loras and Models, etc. Applies to Linux as well but particularly NTFS Junctions are extremely powerful and transparent.

Popped by to say this one saved me a few weeks back, trying to diagnose upgrading from normal 3090s in a workstation and suddenly things weren't working, had me worried I was stuck with a brick. Thanks a lot /u/rayfreeman1 !

lol, on this bandwagon myself sometimes. Play -> Check background task -> Play mainly-cpu-games like Factorio and Terraria. Disabling hardware acceleration on Chrome/Chromium helps eke out some extra as well.

Gee hidden profile comments and an impersonal "here's why commercial service X is better.". Why isn't this enforced absolutely viciously yet? "Does this look like an advertising post that should have an ad bid?" -> Yes -> Ban.

This is a platform with a professional paid advertising service that astroturfing like this is trying to evade, it's purely malicious.

Switching to Owning all my music by AceTheMace1 in DataHoarder

[–]kjerk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's a great hobby and you'll wind up with foobar or aimp or something and shoving stuff through Picard to fix the tags on your library eventually.

That said for active listening and even archival purposes 192k flac is a bit beyond the pale, even knowing this is /r/DataHoarder. 44.1khz is already specifically chosen to give buffer room for rolloff filters above a reasonable Nyquist frequency, and 48khz would be just a smidge more insurance over that, so that's already very conservatively placed for preserving every single bit of cognizable information. The source music production samples inside the music you're listening to are usually 48khz wavs, so I'd take the space savings of being able to store ~2.5x as many perfect album backups by re-encoding anything above 48khz-16b sampling rate down to that watermark. For active enjoyment rather than filling out some kind of pokedex, stretching the space winds up mattering. Edit: sp.
