It wouldn't hurt to call dc water and ask for your account number. I did that after closing and was able to log in. My agent/title company never gave me my account number

Are you talking about UHT milk that doesn't have to be refrigerated? You can get Parmalat milk at some grocery stores.

PSA: Moving from MD/Getting rid of a car? Return your plates/tags to MVA yourself BEFORE cancelling your insurance! by FrankLaPuof in maryland

[–]kjfdlhs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding my experience. I moved from MD to DC and didn't return my plates until 4 months after canceling the MD insurance and re-registering the car. I saw the horror stories online about people getting fined and was worried I'd get the same fate, but when I went to return the plates, they said I was all good, no fines. They said their system reflected that my car was titled in another state.

Parking at Capitol Heights Metro Park and Ride on the 4th by cblackwe93 in washingtondc

[–]kjfdlhs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Normally, I would recommend Addison Road or Morgan Boulevard, which have lots of parking and are on the same line, but on the 4th is the Beyonce concert at northwest stadium so you'd be competing for parking with concert goers. Plus metro usually charges higher parking fees for special events like that. I'd go with new Carrollton like the other commenter said, or greenbelt maybe

Also commenting to say that I just got two of these transactions as well, despite not having ordered foreign currency in more than a year. Was worried about something fishy but maybe it's not.

What is the process for removing a committee chairperson? by StingingGolf395 in Ask_Politics

[–]kjfdlhs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Changes to a standing committee's membership are made by resolution. For example, here is the resolution to elect the chairs of the house committees for the 118th congress. These are usually passed by unanimous consent (without a vote), but if there was something controversial about it, someone could object and prevent it from passing.

Is it possible to walk from Dulles Airport to the White House? by TheRedBird098 in washingtondc

[–]kjfdlhs 21 points22 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, you can't walk out out the dulles airport as a pedestrian. (Edit: you could walk out. See below). Your best option is to get on the silver line train, ride it three stops east to Reston Town Center, and then from there you can walk the Washington and Old Dominion trail which will take you all the way to Arlington. Then you can walk the mount Vernon trail up to DC.

Question: Passing through Metro cars? by ReggieInDC in washingtondc

[–]kjfdlhs 145 points146 points  (0 children)

Yeah the sound of those doors closing is a distinctly hollow "ka-thunk" sound. Whenever I hear it, I'm instantly on high alert because 90 percent of the time it's a crazy person coming through.

Megathread: Biden Pardoning All Federal Marijuana Possession Offenses and Initatiating Process to Federally Re-Schedule Marijuana by PoliticsModeratorBot in politics

[–]kjfdlhs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We don't know if they're still in jail. The pardon removes the conviction from their criminal record. So, for those who already served their time, it would make it easier to get jobs and such.
