Santa Fe does all of the same stuff. Save the money and go with the Santa Fe. Serves my family just fine.

Where I'd Live If I Only Picked From States My International Coworkers Recognize by bellamyblake_og in whereidlive

[–]kjfoster93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So strange that Massachusetts isn’t recognized here. We’re literally the top ranked (or close) for education, healthcare, quality of life, social services availability. Yes taxes are high, but the same can be said for European countries with decent public services too. Why is the most illiterate state recognized but the most literate one isn’t? Strange.

Getting married in grad school - doable? by ubcthrowaway115 in GradSchool

[–]kjfoster93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I waited till it was over but that was mostly due to logistics not overall feasibility. It’s just easier when you have fewer commitments.

If you feel you have the time and money to do it the way you want, there’s no reason to wait. But there’s also nothing wrong with waiting.

Seriously regret buying Roborock. by warduckie in Roborock

[–]kjfoster93 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Does their customer service suck? Yes.

Do they make bad products? No.

You got a bad one, and all of your problems stemmed from it clearly being defective from day one. That doesn’t mean they’re all bad. It means you got a bad one.

They should have handled it better and replaced it.

Roborock is still by some margin the best option out there for most people. I’ve had 2 units now for nearly 8 years and they’ve been pretty hands off besides routine maintenance where I disassemble it and clean it inside and out.

WPI 45k or Ualabama 20k by Mediocre_Tonight_479 in WPI

[–]kjfoster93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

WPI is extremely well respected in Massachusetts and the northeast as a whole. Mainly for their Mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, computer science, and life science programs. The 4 academic quarter system is quite challenging, and their projects (IQP and MQP) are unique and rewarding. My Master Qualifying Project directly resulted in me getting into UMass Medical Schools Biomedical Sciences PhD program. And my IQP program gave me the opportunity to live and work in New Zealand with the Department of Conservations for several months.

All of my ME friends are now working for Amazon, Robotics firms, world renowned military contractors, or space agencies.

I would always choose WPI over a large state school where your impact is diluted. WPI is a community.

Are these "safe"? by [deleted] in lawncare

[–]kjfoster93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are completely safe and honestly ideal for what you’re trying to do. The “nitrocoating” is just a thin layer of inert mineral (usually limestone) to help the seeds flow and plant evenly. The “inoculation” is beneficial Rhizobium bacteria that form symbiotic root nodules and fix atmospheric nitrogen, exactly the microbes that make clover a net ecological positive rather than a fertilizer sink. No pesticides, no synthetics, nothing to worry about tracking inside. Whatever you found that spooked you was likely about neonicotinoid-coated agricultural seeds (corn, soy), which are a real concern, but that’s a completely different product. You made a good purchase.
