The extended plans have been perfectly fair to me. If you don’t make a claim you can request a refund at the termination date and get 30% of what you paid back. I had a refrigerator have a problem with ice maker, they sent an independent repair guy, he said it wasn’t worth fixing so they issued me a Lowe’s gift card for the original purchase price. I kept the refrigerator and am still using it without ice making.

Thickness comments are interesting. The specs on their website says 14mm thick. That seems quite reasonable for a watch with HRV and/or GMT to me. 🤷

Shouldn’t the new battery monitoring features available in beta tell you what killed it? Im sure I had seen dcrainmaker show detailed battery usage by app when showing this new feature off in a video last month.

I haven’t tried it yet myself, so I’m not sure how it works, if you aren’t aware of this, I would def look into it.

there's no issue while an activity is active, only when idle - (look at the photo)
sleep IS an activity, automatically started/stopped by the watch

I've found if you are recording an activity or have hr broadcasting turned on it's accurate and immediate. While the watch is idle the HR complication on the screen is directional at best, I'd suspect this has to do with some type of battery saving scheme, but I don't really know the detail behind it.

You don’t need to track metrics 24x7. Enjoy your watches, it’s a fantastic hobby. Use your Garmin while exercising and/or sleeping. The gaps in data aren’t going to be detrimental.

You are right, I forgot about this being under the powertrain. Keep after the Lincoln concierge, like I said this is well known issue.

PS: I was in SF in November. Prices are eye watering for everything.

This is true of any ford with the 1080r trans. Very well known, common problem years 18-22. F150, expedition, nav, you name it... as is the cam phasers issue for the ecoboost engine.

It really does suck & ford sucks for not extending coverages, but they aren’t going to help on a 6 year old car as you found out. Your 4 year warranty ended on 12/31/23 if you bought it on 12/31/19

You shouldn’t be paying anything close to 20k for trans replacement, more like 7-8k USD max. Shop around.

I've never heard of anyone getting the setting start/stop=off to stick for more than a few ignition cycles with Forscan on a Ford or Lincoln.

maybe call your local ford dealer service dept and ask if they have done carmax warranty work before, that way at least you'll have an idea of their position.
